I don't see why we wouldn't invest in two strikers seeing as we have potentially 5 forwards to offload - Baseya, Bignall and Williams will surely be on their way, and although I haven't seen Sheppard play at all, I expect he'll go out on loan. Genuinely don't mind if Church stays or goes, he's not as bad as a lot of people make him out to be, but I could see him leaving at least on a temporary basis. If those players were to go, then we could do with another forward on top of Roberts, Hunt, Le Fondre and Rhodes - Hunt is injury prone as we know, and Roberts at 35 might not be up to playing a full season. That could be where we sign a forward with experience at least at Championship level - I'd love to see Fletcher playing for us.

Muguire From a Huddersfield mate and HTFC season ticket holder up in Sheffield:

Reading have signed a pre-agreement with Huddersfield for striker Jordan Rhodes. This move is dependant however on Huddersfield not winning promotion to the Championship. No idea of the fee as Reading like to keep things close to their chest, but Nicky Hammond has been working on this move for some months and been seen in the stands on a few occasions. Reading centre defender Sean Morrison has had a very successful second loan at Huddersfield and will go in the other direction as part of the deal.

....why BS when this very same rumour can be found one that cr@p site Football Transfer Rumours.see below...funnily enough posted on there before your post on here....

I trust in our scouts, but you got to question a step up of 2 leagues. The premiership is a huge step up from the Championship, of which he has no experience and I'd expect a player like him would want to be playing each week to improve.

Despite the fact I can't see Church going any where. He's still an important squad player, who has been picked often enough this season, to be considered part of McD's plans. Can't see him leaving.

This is nice and all, but if it does go through losing Sean Morrison is sort of disappointing. I've wanted to see him play for a long time now and apparently he's pretty good.

I'm sure Le Fondre is every bit as good as Rhodes.

Rhodes is a physically bigger player and is excellent in the air. He's pretty quick too.

TBF To Alfie - he's stepped up to the plate this season. Agreed that 2 divisions is a big step for Rhodes.

38 in 43 is an incredible record whether League 1 or not. I think he could step up.

He can obviously step up to the Premier League! £4million should do it.

I agree whether we want to pay £4 million is another issue in itself however!

Probably looking at Huddersfield's exciting young centre back - Morrison I think his name is.

He's also going to Wigan on Sunday to watch their game with Wolves.

Its tricky, because most of us only see clips on youtube and tv highlights of Jordan Rhodes, and haven't seen him in the flesh to get an understanding of his talent. Yes, its league 1, and yes, in the past we've bought frequent scorers from lower divisions who haven't stamped their authority when given the chance (apart from Le Fondre in the 2nd half of the season, but limited time on the pitch in his defence), but even from the youtube clips, Rhodes looks class, given those chances he's put away would the likes of Church and co be able to find the net as frequently? I think not, he's the stand-out player in the lower leagues and I for one would love to see him get the chance, feeding off our wing play and hopefully from an attacking midfielder that is brought in. There is a lot of talk that if the TSI thing doesn't go ahead we won't spend money, or doubting how much TSI will put on the table for us to spend...FFS we've just got promoted to the premier league, i'm not sure how the funding starts to roll in (from TV rights, league etc) but that alone should flood us with quite a few more million than we've had to invest before? If Brian and co think he's good enough, that's good enough for me. I just wish the leagues would all draw to a conclusion so we can start our moves in the transfer market to signal our intent and hopefully get us all excited for the season to come.

If Holt and Lambert can come up from League One and get 20+ in the Championship then Rhodes definitely can and I expect all three to be playing in the Premiership next season. If Rhodes is playing for us then even better but I still can't believe that we have money to spend after three years of bargain basement signings

Never been particularly wowed by him tbh, obviously a good goalscorer and is young but his all round game doesn't really stand out in League 1.
