facaldaquisoggy biscuit Jermain Pennant arrested and charged with drink driving, driving while disqualified and driving with no insurance after crashing into another car.
Without football clubs mollycoddling their assets like him these people would be screwed. I predict Pennant will be dead within 5 years of retiring.
This is why I disagree with the advice to do things the Stoke way in the premier; I don't want us signing the Woodgate and Pennant types of human being.

Hoop Blah No we didn't.
We signed him on loan and then completed it when he was acquitted. If he hadn't of got off we wouldn't have signed him.

We had him on the book while waiting for trial. For me it was a mistake to touch him with a lucky stick.
So as you say we signed him on loan because we weren't sure of an innocent verdict. It was an error... but hopefully a one off.
