Dare to Dr£am
Friday's Legacy
Ian Royal I still think he was just poor. Which was understandable after a fair lengthy injury lay off and playing in a team that obviously didn't give two shits whether it won or lost.

I trust you didn't see all of his games then, because largely he was very composed and reliable, and out of position at right-back especially. The injury was obviously a set-back, and when he got a game at the end, he wasn't fit enough or sharp enough. He will be more than sufficient as cover.

I'm not sure if this is related or not, or their both wanted (Connolly possibly seen as Cummings cover), but we have had a bid accepted for Adrian Mariappa, and we have offered him a contract. -- The player has decided to take his time in making a decision while he considers all his options. Sounds like Swansea have come in for him.

Sometimes I hate it when you're right.

Wigan have also come back in as well, but Mariappa turned them down in January.

It seems that Brendan Rodgers is still using Bryan as his head scout...

Well he did need Brian to work out what Gylfi's best position is.

Let's go for Rhys Williams, then.

Reading are thought to be negotiating a deal to bring Connolly to the club permanently.

A very astute bit of business, we need as strong a squad as possible and he will add to that. Get the foundations in place and then add 2-3 who will really make a difference.

Obviously Brian is looking to bring in a right back and in my view who ever it is will go straight into the team ahead of cummings, despite his improvement last season. The advantage with Connolly is he can play centre back of course but it sounds like we could end up with another 'specialist' right back aswell ie Gunter or Marriapa

Connolly is not the signing from a team who have millions.

Also i don't get the hype about him as I think he is distinctively average and at Birmingham shocking.

No thank you.

Friday's Legacy He is, but he has player at RB as well.

My Watford mate Stengths: Strong, great positional sense, good pace, for a cb doesn’t commit to many fouls, ball winner, great in the air.
Weaknesses: Woeful emergency right back, now in the Jamaica international set up.
£2m is about right, although we don’t desperately need the money. I’d hope for £2.5m – £3m and Ian Harte on season long loan.

Z175 Hey
Can I get the low down on RFC's next ex-Watford player?
Strengths, weaknesses, can he do a job as a right back? Is £2m over priced?
Cheers

I think as with Connolly, we can't shortcut our 3rd CB as our 1st choice RB. We need a specialist, hopefully Gunter...
