Swede temptation: Spurs line up £3m bid for Baggies defender

Spurs are poised to make a £3million bid for West Brom defender Jonas Olsson.

Boss Harry Redknapp believes the 29-year-old centre-back, who has just 12 months left on his Hawthorns contract, would be ideal to bolster the Tottenham squad, after struggling with injuries to Ledley King, Michael Dawson, William Gallas and Younes Kaboul last term. West Brom would discuss a sale and Olsson signalled his interest as he said: “I’ve been here for four years now and perhaps it is not wise to become to rooted in one place.

“If I want to move back to Sweden when my career’s over, there are a lot of things I have to consider.”

Spurs have also ordered Swansea loanee Steven Caulker back, as they plan a defensive overhaul, and are alread y on the verge of signing Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen.

Hmm probably a bit out of our reach if Spurs fancy him, even if we were interested. Would be a massive yes from me though.

I remember that game. Had a nightmare and got himself sent off, really let his team down that day. Always seems to end up on his arse when WBA concede on MOTD. Think we could do a lot better than him for £3m..........
