Doyle is seen as a step backwards by those at the club whereas there is a desire to bring Shane Long back - at least that's my understanding. I could be wrong

Forget that, I'm really hoping Long's coming back! Tell us what you know!!

I think it's ridiculous but a man can dream, you know. A man can dream...

BonBoh Can we have some sort of break-out room for these types of discussions - a 'Fight Club' forum outside of the Team Board or Unfounded Rumours Or Gossip sections?

These pages should focus on what is going on around the team. We shouldn't have to read through pages of dross with people insulting each other or arguing.

The only way that the dross you speak will end is if Royal Lady stops talking out of her arse and makes a valid point for once.

Bit harsh. He's said he wants to stay at Wolves anyway, so don't worry. You're testicles are safe.

Not really, may as well get in Bas Savage as well if we're thinking about getting Hunt back. And thanks, puts my mind at ease.

It's Long surely? Hence the reason he specifically bumped up this thread, and his subsequent comment in reply to BF :?

I have to say I agree with some of their comments about him in the PL. If Reading were to break the bank and spend £4m etc on him I would be very disappointed. He hasn't had long enough in the PL to prove he can cut it yet. This is one I hope doesn't come off.

Not this one, I hope: "Absolute codswallop. The only place Long is going is Leeds or Nottingham Forest."

What a load

and who have WBA got thats any good. cox has been a bit part player for them and we shipped him off to Swindon for free because he was absoluetly carp even at league 1 level

WBA havent been using Long in the same way we do, McD will get the best out of him

Cheers Robin Friday or whatever your name is. I don't talk out of my arse, as it happens, but you carry on with your rudeness if it makes you feel big.

Celtic are looking at Cox btw, I still think we were wrong to get rid when we did, but that's life I suppose.

Try not to judge Long on his performances for WBA. It's rare one of our players reaches anywhere near their form they had for us with a new team. Don't underestimate the confidence they get from our manager and team.

He did fairly well at Brom and I'm in no doubt he'd be far better playing for us in the Prem. I'd welcome him back with open arms.

 How far down the pecking order was Simon Cox when he was sold to swindon? Quite a way iirc. And as for being looked at by Celtic, hardly one of world football's giants are they. But as they seem to thrive on journeyman championship players maybe that is his level.

As for Shane Long returning, who knows? I was as disappointed as anyone when he left at the start of the season and considering the injuries and illness scare, has had a successful season.
