As I'll now reiterate, we never did submit a bid and now, obviously, it looks een less likely that we would ever do so.

We always gamble on unproven kids. The only difference is now we're in the PL and have to spend slightly more money on those gambles.

Yes, we bid £1m plus add-ons and sell-on clause. It was dismissed out of hand.

Local media believe Wolves has bid £4m. I'm not sure if that's up front or in stages. They want up front.

gamble on unknown kid who will cost 75 k>>>>>>>>>>>gamble on an unproven kid costing 4 million quid.
if the first one works, great, if not, oh well
if the second one works, its bloody should have at that price, and if it doesnt, thats a terrible waste

1-2 million is a sensible gamble for us on him. maybe an established prem team may see 4 million as worthwhile.

Norwegian media aren't talking about Reading any more. It's all Wolves.

To lose one Sigurdsson may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness.

But surely the 4m kid must have a reason to be worth so much more, so in fairness the gamble probably evens out.

Wait, you don't agree that better players are worth more money?

no, im questioning whether some random norwegian club/media slapping that price tag on him, makes him automatically a better player, and automatically likely to succeed in england.

about what we sold mills for....

He's clearly a better bet for Premier League football next season, than Shorey at the time we signed him (I believe your figure is for him?) who spent about three or four years in the Championship with us before stepping up to the Premier League. He's also being touted as the next Ibrahimovic which is immediately going to wack a big amount on his price.

If a club think he's worth that amount to them, they'll pay it and he is. If not, then he'll be in Norway again next season or the price will go down... One thing we know about us, is that we won't be held to ransom and we'll go elsewhere, even if we want him, if our valuation is lower than the asking price.

Who said automatic?

If someone buys a player at 4m, I'm expecting they believe him to be worth more than 75K.

no one has bought him for 4 million.

im questioning that just because the selling club say 4, it doesnt mean he'll go for four
or that hes worth 4
or that he'll repay the 4
