Depends on how much money he's given. Can't see Henderson, Gerrard and Lucas playing his style tbh.

Doesn’t this tawdry little affair show Rodgers true colours? Got great coverage for having turned down the chance to talk to Liverpool only to have an apparent volte-face. I can imagine Watford fans are having a wry smile.

Short term success at Watford, abject failure at Reading, successfully inherited an excellent infrastructure already in place at Swansea and it remains to be seen if he is a success with a horribly mediocre Liverpool team. He’s probably got lucky in that he can’t do any worse than Kenny.

he's achieved in 3 years what it's taken Harry Redknapp 30 years and countless steak dinners for journos in hostelries around the M25. it's a startling rise.

Thing is, he only declined before cos he didn't want to be in a "race" to get the job - which if he didn't win, meant he had to come back to Swansea with his tail between his legs......his agent has now probably told him the job is all but his.

Bit of a sideways step for Rodgers. Going from one mid-table team to another.

Not really sure how Rodgers will fare at Liverpool, if pressed I'd agree with Fruits that they need a man to do a rebuilding job rather than someone who so far seems to have shown that he only knows one way of working, and struggles with a Plan B.

But while that's all open to debate, it does show just how small margins football is determined on doesn't it? I hate to hark back to it but if Karacan’s shot had gone a quarter of an inch to the left in the play off final it would have gone in off the post rather than bounced out – that would have seen us come back from 3-0 down to make it 3-3. It's often repeated and sure we could have still gone on to lose, but with the momentum you'd have to say at 3-3 we'd be in poll position to have won that, meaning another year in the Championship for Rodgers. And then, even if he had won the league this year with Swansea, you doubt he'd still be in the running for the Liverpool job as he is now. McDermott's done it and his name isn't attached to any of the Villa, WBA, Liverpool jobs going (not that I'm disappointed with that!)...

Not trying to make another big deal out of a match that was played 12 months ago, but it is funny how football is defined but such small incidents.

Rodgers did say when he became our manager thatwe could be world class within 4 years. If he get's the full potential out of that Liverpool team, he will have achieved that dream.

They've agreed release terms with Swansea, how do you figure they haven't offered him the job?

Just repeated what SSN said at the time. They've agreed terms since then.
