Handsome Man Passing has got to start with the centre halves and the central midfielders: Rodgers has get to get rid of Carragher and Gerrard as painlessly as possible to effect this.

Skrtel, Adam, Agger and Lucas are a decent start.

Hoop Blah Exactly, Sousa failed to replace him.
Rodgers did replace him, and got more goals out of the rest. That is good management and why he got them up when the previous two didn't.
It wasn't just a case of keeping their work ticking over, he actually addressed the weaknesses in the squad and made them a better side. He doesn't get enough credit for that.

Wimb I agree he hasn't got enough credit but at the same time he had resources that the other two didn't. Sinclair was one of them as was the fact that players had 2 years of experience at Championship level playing a Rodgers type style. I think he's a good manager but my point is more that if you'd given Sousa or Martinez that squad then I'd have backed them to get into the top 6.
Wimb Interesting to think now where he'd be if Earnshaw or Karacan's shots go the other side of the post in their play-off run....

cmonurz Not to sidetrack the discussion, but I've often wondered how different the England team's fortunes might have subsequently been had Gascoigne got a toe-end on that cross in the Euro 96 semi final.

SWLR So, the Scouser is walking along Ainsdale Beach and comes across a strange bottle; he rubs it on his replica Liverpool FC shirt and out pops the obligatory genie. the following dialogue ensues:
Genie: Oh Master, thou hast saved me form a two thousand years of slavery and I must now reward you.
Scouser: Great, dah!
Genie: I must now consult my genie book of rules for 2012 and see what I must do. (flicks through tome.) Ah yes, you are granted one wish, which cannot carry monetary value, but must be something that enhances your spiritual wellbeing. You must offer me two choices, one of which I am bound to bring about.
Scouser: Orright, mate. Well, I live in Maghull but werk in Birkenhead. Me missus is always complainin' i'm 'one late so 'owe about you build me a bridge from my 'ouse straight to the shipyard. Two lanes, so that i can cycle on the right side goin' there and back.
Genie: Oh master, that is indeed too onerous a task. the civil engineering is difficult enough, but have you thought about getting through the Liverpool Corporation and Birkenhead Planning committees- the legal fees alone…..(genie swoons). What is your second option.
Scouser: Orright, mate. What about Liverpool FC makin' Champions League places next season?
Genie: With Brenda in charge (pauses). So, would you need lights on the bridge?

Epic Fail.
