robinsfriday this is a dead cert. 85% chance.

85% chance because there is always the possibility that a better offer comes in at the last hour.

arthurfondrelli Twitter tells me that part of the compensation package is that Bodgers cannot take Swansea players to Liverpool for 12 months, and that INCLUDES SIGURDSSON

Well yeah, but surely the point is the deal's not completed yet - he's not a Swansea player.
If he does complete the deal, a different matter, sure.

...but if we are to believe that the deal hasn't been finalised ...then it's irrelevant .....if it has been done, then that kills Readings quest for him

100% not finalised. Swansea chairman on talksport this morning, talking a good game. Has an agreement with Liverpool not to sign any Swansea players and is still hopeful Gylfi deal will go through next week.

Frankly a bit naive, Swansea are under no obligation to accept any bids from Liverpool in any case and if they offered them £10m for anyone I expect they'd take it anyway. Any verbal statement with Rodgers is clearly worth nothing. Being hopeful Gylfi will sign next week when he was supposed to be unveiled yesterday smacks of false optimism too. No reason for the Sig to sign for them now.

It just depends on whether anyone else makes a bid. South Wales paper is running a story Rodgers has told Gylfi he needs 1st team football so go ahead at Swansea, so hinting Liverpool won't. With Gerrard, Adam, Cole etc it might not be a priority. But if they do bid, then any worries about 1st team football will be allievated by promises from Rodgers, so he'll be a red.

With Hoffenheim digging their heels in because Swansea went public their chances of signing Sig must be a lot lower than some other clubs who have a good working Relationship with them and who have behaved professionally in everyway when they have delt with them

Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle and Aston Villa have all declared their interest, while Liverpool can be added to that list now Rodgers is at the helm.

It's not irrelevant if it means Liverpool aren't in a position to also make a late bid for him though.

Gentlemens agreement that they won't though, of course they're not obliged to stick to that - especially if it looks like Gylfi won't go to Swansea without Rodgers there

Not if the terms of the agreement are as the rumour states. Is that likely? Who knows.
