Both have black hair and play up front.

Both are terriers, chasing down balls others wouldn't even bother moving for. I'm sure there are other things.

I wouldn't be disappointed if we signed Long, just a bit underwhelmed.

It's a bit strange to have all this investment to get back where we were a season or two ago (although I'd feel different if it was Gylfi, obviously).

Quite right.
And both are known fans of a thin crust with extra pepperoni.

Please can someone turn this thread into a sticky when something factual happens then I'll know when it's safe to read it again!

ALF is deceptively fast but Long is far quicker. Long, despite not being particularly big, is extremely strong and very good at roughing up defenders. So I would love to see him back and, from what McDermott said after he left, I think Long would be more than happy to come back.

That's the price you have to pay when you've pawned the family silver.

This. Cannot see how re-signing a player whose main contribution to a game is his diving.

It really can't be a coincidence that we started playing so well after we offloaded him and brought in roberts and Alfie.......not a forward move to re-sign old players.......

Royal Ginger I don't know why everyone would be so upset if Long did come back. We were nearly all gutted when he went, he was great for us. I for one would love to see him partner with Roberts.

He hasn't scored a crazy number of goals this year, but when he's had the ball things happen. I'd welcome him back with open arms.

It's because he's not Gylfi.

It appears if we sign both Iniesta and Xavi people will be angry as neither are Icelandic.

Semtex drops a bombshell.

Long played one game for us last season and we spent the next 2 months building a new team style.

In he previous season his goals singlehandedly got us into the play offs.

You have a very strange memory of last season and Shane Long. Folks, I think we found our fool of the day...

This thread and and the talk of the takeover, possible signings and pizza is starting to take its toll on some posters as they fail to remember how well we were playing before the start of this season.

I don't even want to start on how much Shane contributed when he was here. If someone doesn't want him back, they are deluded.

much prefer Gylfi though and would make soooo much more sense
