Well you'd have thought one of the national papers would've picked up on a bid for an in demand player like Gylfi by now especially a bid from his old club. We like to keep things secret and Hoffenheim obviously do as well hence the reason for their displeasure with Swansea at revealing a deal a week early but I'd have thought other news sources would have picked up any bid from us by now.

We're by no means out of the running, but if Liverpool bid then there really should be only one place he will go. He may seek assurances of first team football, and if he can't get it there and he can get it here then you just never know. It could swing it in our favour.

I think we all have to realise that this is a completely different football club to 2 months ago. We may hear that we wont break wage budgets etc, but that is purely for public record and to try and stop clubs/players/agents upping what they want when we show interest. I've no doubt we are more than prepared, for the right player, to smash our wage structure.

What do you mean by 'smash our wage structure' though?

What do you think it is already and how far are you thinking we'll stretch it? I only ask as I think a lot of people under estimate what we probably already pay our existing 'stars'.
