RUMOUR - Liam Bridcutt

by DOYLERSAROYALER » 06 Jun 2012 08:06

...another one to add to the rumours pot.....

READING are favourites to land Brighton’s Liam Bridcutt ahead of Aston Villa and Fulham.

Newly-promoted Royals are preparing a £2million bid for the midfielder, 23.

According to the media/internet we seem to be preparing a lot of 2m bids for a lot of players. Our mission, I guess, is to decide which one is true.

Urgh no, too lightweight and inconsistent, can't tackle. Wouldn't suit our style at all

rather we look at a free Nigel Reo-Coker orFabain Delph than Bridcutt. mixed reviews last season.

Quick someone call the Intelligence services, these damn Russkis seem to know everyone we are after today and are getting in first. If I didn't know better I would say the Russians have infiltrated the boardroom of this club.... Oh, hold on........

Always hard to judge a player without seeing him week in and week out so I can only judge on what I've seen. Based on that Bridcutt has never stood out either for better or worse and I wouldn't rate him significantly better than Jay Tabb so I am surprised we are interested, if indeed we are.

He would be a typical Reading signing and those signings have stood us in good stead for quite a few years. If we got Bridcutt and Mariappa the squad would have more depth but I hope later signings will be players who I would expect to come straight into our starting eleven. There's plenty of time for more signings through the summer but at the moment it's looking like McDermott is going to show a lot of loyalty to the players that got promotion which I suppose is fair and the Reading way.

It's certainly a policy which would be likely to have us looking at a relegation struggle.

That's true, I used to go to school with his older brother. Liam is a decent player I just don't think he's good enough for the top division.

Just sign this idiot to give us something to talk about. Then get back to signing Gylfi, J.Cole, Sanchez and Bertrand.

Thanks,
