...think Gylfi will have to get used to be part of a squad rotation .......Rodgers appears to be linked with a number of players....all either midfield or forwards....getting shot of the deadwood will be his bigger challenge

I doubt the club will come out and admit that, not when they're telling the press we wont be held to ransom.. but we're happy to spend £6.8m on someone at the same time. RFC have always liked to keep things to themselves. Jonny Fordham only prints what the club allows him to, so he wont print it, and Hoffenheim will have been asked to keep this under wraps.

Yes, that is the way we have always done things and I hope we continue to operate. On the other hand there is no problem with releasing a statement saying we have submitted a bid, every club in the PL know he is available.

How can you or anyone say we are happy to spend 6.8m if you dont actually know if there is any truth in it? Nobody has an idea of what the budget is apart from Anton, JM & their minions. Yes it's been said the money is there if the right player comes along, We don't know how much that is. I'm sure you agree EVERYONE knows we should do all we can and spend the money required to make this particular move happen.

I just would have thought the press would have put 2 & 2 together and report it by now. Nothing concrete that we have actually tabled a bid apart from rumour mills.

It's only mid-June but I want this rumour in particular wrapped up and I'm just dying to kno if there is any truth in that we have made a bid!

I'm sure the club would have no issue in a journalism printing a 'nothing' story. No suggestion RFC ready to make a bid or heavy interest there really is there? From another club looking in that says nothing except a journo speculating.

RFC have agreed to keep the 'officials' of the deal i.e. official bids, acceptance, offers etc under wraps to as many as possible. And Jonny Fordham in no way would have been desperate to put pen to paper to write if it affected our chances. Remember he's a Reading fan too

There are plenty of players as good as Sigurdsson out there (Pratley comes tomind!) who wouldn't cost £7million and would love to play for the Swans!

If we are to believe the long list of players Rodgers is targeting ..then Gylfi may find himself in a squad rotation system..and not a guaranteed starter every game
