Certainly don't think Rooney was as bad as some would suggest. Was rusty and lost the ball a few times, but not a ridiculous amount, and he was always going to struggle given the tight areas he was given the ball in. In comparison to performances such as those of Milner and Johnson it is a tad hyperbolic to call Rooney's performance 'shocking'. Showed some classy touches and will be excellent on Sunday.

Roy probably hasn't seen a replay that suggests it was offside, but anyone with half an eye could see that was at best a tight call o the line.
