Bring Back The SB
akranes Alan Shearer ‏@AlanShearer_
Gylfi Sigurdsson is 100% signing for Liverpool. Not Tottenham, Not Reading, Not Swansea. Liverpool. #LFC

Good on him if true - He deserves better than us now and is a different class of player.

Hope he does well.

It's a fake account. Shearer has said many times on MoTD that he does not and will not use Twitter, but there's plenty of fake accounts impersonating him.

im happy for gylfi if he does sign for liverpool, however, i hope it isnt like the hoffenheim situation where BR gets sacked in January and he falls out of favor. it would probably be best for him to wait and play for us for a season or two to make sure BR is staying at liverpool for good. also man u might come in and swoop him in a couple of years, if he signs for liverpool now he might not have the chance to play for united which is his dream. if he comes home he will get first team football and his stock will only go up if he keeps us up and plays well. he will also have a team built around him, he wont have that at liverpool where he will be rotated in and out of the first team more than likely. im still hopefully optimistic that he will come home.

Oh come on.

Excuse me Sir I think you got lost on the way to the old folks home. We're in the 21st century the 80's are that <<<<< way.

Much better than Reading and better than the current Liverpool. There should be more than relegation favourites and a mid table team trying to sign such a talented player.

I bet if Gylfi could put a minimum release fee clause in his contract if the manager is sacked within a certain time frame he would have probably signed for Liverpool by now but then I've never heard of such a clause ever being enforced. The more and more I hear though makes me more optimistic so I guess I'm set up for a big fall.

Oh and inb4 oxf*rd off newbie.

To be fair, I fully expect the odds on our relegation to change significantly once we sign a few players - I suspect the odds are significantly skewed at the moment on relegation simply because we're "little old Reading". It's highly unlikely that TSI and the approach that they are taking (and money they apparently appear to be prepared to spend) have had much impact on the prices so far....we might be favourites to go down in the view of a majority of "normal" punters, but then how many have really looked at what potential the TSI takeover has brought to the club, and what magic McD can weave - Brian worked wonders last year (I wonder what the odds were on us going up as Champions at this time last year?) and I'm confident that he can do the same in the PL, with some astute player purchases...

Now highly unlikely Gylfi will come back. It was always unlikely but now looks like he's decided on Liverpool.

looking at all the post that says gylfi has signed for liverpool or decided on liverpool look to be false or have no credibility. for all we know he still hasnt decided, last check he still is in Iceland deciding.

The lure of Liverpool, the posdibilty of getting toward CL challenging and a big agent like he has. Alan Shearer twitter was fake but they're are others too that aren't.

There all just repeating the fake rumours.

The only legit person in the last few hours who has said anything is ben smith and all he can say is that liverpool are still the front runners.

But they've always been the frontrunners, they are the bigger club and apparently he has a close relationship with Rodgers, I'm really not sure how much I buy that anymore than he does Mcdermott HOWEVER the player has yet to make his decision, liverpool being front runners is just the conventional wisdom based on the relative sizes of the clubs. So nothing has changed.

Agreed, it's only over when a decision is announced IMO.

My apologies for the twitter quote that was fake, didn't realise.

I think it's all gone a bit too far now, I'll TRY and leave this until something is announced...

I've heard that Gylfi got drunk in Reykjavik on Saturday night on cheap vodka and was last seen heading home to his hotel singing 'You'll never walk alone.'

Make of that what you will.

Looks like this transfer talk is starting to make Gylfi's head get bigger.
