He must have been in contact with his club, if a leak is going to come from anywhere before it's official, it's likely to be there. Seams reasonable that the German media could get hold of it first.

Indeed a leak in Germany is likely being the country of home club. Spurs have their manager lined up as AVB, announcement due soon and I've now seen this in various places.

On a serious note, this thread is seriously damaging my career. I spend the majority of my meetings with my iPhone on the desk seeing where this is going. The 30th will see my productivity reach highs that the company hasn't seen for weeks. Unless we get Gylfi, in which case it will hit an all time low as a result of an orgasm induced coma. Either way, someones gonna be happy. If Gylfi is going to anyone that isn't Reading I hope it is Spurs. I'd hate to see the smug look on Rodgers' face if he were to get him...

I heard that AVB is definitely more than possible now. In some ways if he won't come to us, the THFC may be a better move for Sig. As they are heavily rumoured to be losing Modric in the summer, he may get a better chance at a starting place esp if the new manager wants to move on some of the deadwood. You just can't help but think his chances at LFC will be limited on no only the players they have in midfield or the system Rodgers chooses to play.

AVB is their man and will be announced in July. What I heard of it was simply that AVB couldn't be announced just yet due to compensation reasons he had agreed with Chelsea.

A few bits also suggested Van Dar Vaart could also be off.

However, as others have said Spurs might well have promised to build the team round Gylfi and presumably even if AVB is not the manager yet (but is the man that will be announced) Gylfi would have met with him before making a decision. If Modric and V der V do go Spurs will have a great need for replacements. Bale and Sigurdsson could be awesome in the same team.

With Liverpool there is no way Rodgers could have made the same promise to build the team round him because of Gerrard - so it always looked a very bad option to me.

So overall if we are not getting him back, I will be glad for his sake if he does go to Spurs.
