Barry the bird boggler Hope they don't show the new kit to the new players until after they've signed...

Looking at Sean Morrison's tweets, he's told a friend he'll miss them but he'll be back down to see them #OMGWeGotRhodes

Deleted. This was tweeted by Daniel Cross who read too much into Morrison's tweet. Morrison has just come back from Plymouth visiting friends.

....there seems to be much focus on this deal for Rhodes and stupid figures like £6/7m being banded around ...

...for someone who hasn't played much in the championship and obv never in the Prem league, this could be a gamble unless the fee is realistic and not insane like some being quoted by Huddersfield fans on their board....

..if it was felt that Rhodes could cut it at Prem level..I'm sure the likes of Man Utd would be circling now ...much like they did buying Nick Powell .....

..if he continued to score regularly in the championship next season, then maybe he would be worth a punt in the future...but at the moment too much of a gamble and the likes of Defoe would be a far safer option...all IMHO

... just to add to that, I think something no-one has mentioned so far is that he's unproven in the Championship let alone in the Premiership and that £6million seems a lot for him. Just wanted to make sure this is said as I don't think anyone has said this yet.

Umm...I think Royalwaster may be extracting the urine there. Maybe it's too early for sarcasm to register with some.

Don't forget Morrison being thrown in as the makeweight - probably get £2mil off that £6mil asking price

I think we'd be lucky to get even £1m for Morrison

What I heard last night was shy of £6m plus Morrison, but don't expect the full amount to be paid up front. Some will be dependant on us staying up, a little more perhaps if we qualified for Europe etc. Morrison is key to the deal going our way. I don't know if this has been accepted. I do know their chairman is a lifelong Huddersfield fan, and is reluctant to sell and not making this very easy. Simon Grayson is fighting our corner as he wants Morrison. Gut feeling is this will happen (my opinion only).

In my opinion, If he continued to score next year and proved he can step up to the Championship then we would probably be out of the running, which is why we are moving for him now.

Understand that equally if he joined us and didnt score we would be left with a big white elephant - I'd be sure that the figures being quoted would be a long way off what Reading would be looking to pay..and any deal would be more backend loaded based on performance

A good yardstick is who else is sniffing around...and on that front it doesn't appear to be many ..although who knows what's happening behind the scenes

This.

If he repeated this season's form next year at a higher level, the big boys would come circling we would stand very little chance of getting him. If McDermott thinks he is worth it then better to swoop now while we actually can.

With strikers making the step up there are many examples of strikers overlooked for a great while, then someone taking a chance. Le Fondre, Kitson, Grant Holt?
