Not particularly. Arsenal and Spurs away early doors, but no-one else ‘big’ until October and November. It’s a tough start for Rodgers, but Liverpool’s form against the better sides wasn’t a big problem last season, double over Chelsea, drew at home with City and United, and there was RVP’s late winner for Arsenal.

If they do come through those games undefeated though, maybe that’ll be a springboard for Brendan. To a certain extent, he has little to lose.
