RFC Bukta range

by Gandalf Presley » 30 Jun 2012 01:07

Well, the 2012-2013 home kit is going to be ruddy awful then. I noticed that Toffs (www.toffs.com) has introduced a Bukta range, these being exact replicas for the late 70's shirts for Newcastle, Hibs, Plymouth, etc. I have asked about RFC and got the following response:-

"Thanks for your e-mail, we are aware of other Bukta teams and we will look into adding more to our range in due course".

Rather than being a gullible idiot and buy the new kit, put some pressure on Toffs to actually release a shirt which has hoops all the way around and no stupid red flashes or a large area to allow for squad names.

Rant over.

I have had stuff from TOFFS before, problem is their stuff gets misshapen and isn't the same after washing. They are very similar to the Simod cup final shirts that the Club Shop sells. They look really good, but they aren't really the same as the originals if that makes sense? Doesn't help that they are 100% cotton and heavy.

Best retro shirt I've had is the Robin Friday one. I believe the club shop still stocks this shirt?

A company called Score Draw do some decent replica's of retro shirts (HMV stock them). Try contacting them......although they only dp the big clubs and a few international sides.

Yep I'd really like a Bukta RFC shirt, best kit ever IMO. If they can do Plymouth and Rochdale hope they will do us.

I have the Robin Friday shirt from the Club Shop. Probably not as good quality as some of the Toffs shirts but it's pretty good. I don't wear the modern shirts, apart from the couple I have which are for the gym.

I read this as, "RFC Burka range," which would at least give plenty of scope for stripes....

I asked Toffs about them doing a Bukta Reading shirt and they asked for a photo - does anyone have any?

My first, possibly favourite, RFC kit was also Bukta (i think). can't see any logo on this one though.

the 78/79 Bukta - with the logos down the arms - was always my favourite.

I had an original of this shirt but sold it on E bay. It was a nylon based material not very comfy. I would be up for getting one if Toffs bring one out.

I had one that I had to have ordered via Blakes Sports Outfitters (RIP - a real sports shop). Took about 2 months to get hold of - the idea that a football supporter would want to wear a replica shirt of the club they supported was regarded as pretty preposterous at the time.

Agreed it was horrible tight nylon material.

West Ham, had a brief few seasons in the 1990's with Bukta, making our kits and I have to say it was far better looking than the rubbish we later got with Reebok and Umbro.
