Optimist We shouldn't sing "Shorey for England" this time, cos that's already been acheived, but a new song should also show our support for him doing something unheard of for a Reading player, any suggestions?

Nick Shorey my Lord! Just a big at our idiotic fans who seem to think there's some sort of loyality practice that footballers must adhere to. Who gives a shit if he left 4 years ago? And whilst his performances were'nt his best at the end of his stay (and there were far worse culprits at that time), the vast majority were very good.
It's a good signing; "free", cover for Harte (who is ace of course but has the pace of a snail), wealth of experience, knows the set-up, etc. We need critical, quality mass in this league to stay up, it's not 06/07. This squad is shaping up nicely.

Royalwaster Looks like NS and Pearce will be only two players not wearing fancy dan football boots next season ... (see gallery on OS). Trivial I know.

Ian RoyalNo Fixed Abode You don't need a FIFA pro coaching licence to work out that you just need to stick a pacey winger up against Shorey or Harte to totally destroy Reading down that flank.
Don't get me wrong, Shorey and Harte are decent players, but when you're up against Antonio Valencia, you need to have a left back with a bit of pace. It's ok to play these two against sides who don't have so much pace on the right wing.....
Murty wasn't pacey and he didn't do too bad against Ronaldo (or anyone else for that matter) considering the gulf in class. Pace helps, nouce is more important.
Oh and Welcome back Shorey. I hope to see you recapture your former glory with us.

ZacNaloen I remember Ronaldo absolutely rinsing Murty to score a goal at the Madejski stadium. It was embarassing.
