Rumour Maybe back in for Mullins??

And, according to Trevor Birch, Hayden Mullins also remains on Reading’s radar as he looks to ship out the club’s bigger earners.

‘At this moment there is nothing concrete on either of them but Cardiff and Reading are watching things. That is all it is at the moment.

Mullins is free isn't he? We don't have any interest in him now.

Meanwhile, Reading have been linked with Hull midfielder Robert Koren so far this summer.

Yet Mullins could also come into the equation as the Royals prepare for the Premier League.

The 33-year-old’s experience could be vital to Brian McDermott’s squad.

Pompey will not seek out the possibility of a compromise agreement with Mullins until they can be sure there is no interest.

I may be missing something here, but surely that is why we are still interested in him?

But what would it have to do with Pompey if we were monitoring him or not? I haven't read the article mind.. but unless it effects any compensation he's owed when he joins another club, this really isn't anything for them to comment on. He isn't their player if he's free.

I've highlighted the parts about Mullins, everything else is about Lawrence. I think he is a free but obviously we're not going to take him early as he'll be on our wage bill when we don't need him yet.

No thanks, surely we can do better than Mullins? We need to be moving forward with our signings not average championship standard?

Let's hurry up and sign him! Having a player with Prem experience who can play in different positions can't do us any harm.

I'm sure he's great in training etc etc etc, but he was non existent for the majority of the time on the pitch, and having someone in the team just because they have prem experience is a waste. By that reasoning we already have Bryn who plays in that position with the relevant credentials.

This hasn't been put to bed yet, surprisingly. I don't see the benefit of bringing him in, but there is still talk it could happen.

Surely not after signing Guthrie? This would be a poor addition to the squad IMO, much better players out there that we have a chance of getting.

Yeah I would of thought this would be an unnecessary addition after Guthrie. Can't see it.

Not at the same level of our other recent signings, don't see much benefit. And he's old.

I'd easily rather see Jay Tabb on the pitch than Mullins. Unnecessary cover.

Off to Birmingham according to the Beeb

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18812030

BBC Birmingham City boss Lee Clark is set to complete his third signing in four days by bringing in experienced utility man Hayden Mullins from Portsmouth.
