andrew1957 As far as I am concerned Churchy is one of our own and one I have watched him coming through the Academy ranks since he was 17 - so if he does go I will wish him well and hope he is a great success wherever he goes.

On Twitter this morning so it must be true...

Matthew ‏@maffff

New #readingfc owner Anton Zingarevich has offered Simon Church a stunning 10yr contract, as Kingsley, in bid to lure Gylfi to the Madejski.

Sky are reporting Watford FC striker Troy Deeny sent down for 10 months for affray. How long before the Church to Watford rumour resurfaces? Oh hold on, 30 seconds.... I've just mentioned it :D .

He's been on the official site today with HRK talking about looking forward to playing prem football and pre-season. A hint towards them both staying?

I hope so. HRK will definetely get playing time knowing how injury prone Kebe is, and tbh I'd keep him ahead of McCleary in the pecking order atm. Church's chances will be limited but he deserves a shot at the PL.

Looks like he's even missed putting the 9 on straight.

The club has put a lot of money and faith into his development. He has always had bag's of potential and is/was very highly rated across the industry but there comes a time when potential has gone and its whether you deliver the goods. I personally think that played regularly and with a bit of confidence he would be a great asset but I do not think he'll get any more chances with RFC.

Sheer quality comes down to it as well. I could go on the pitch every Saturday afternoon, play confidently and passionately, but still be no good, as I havent that raw talent.

im not sure what bm's plans are for him but if we do get defoe somehow someone is going to have to go and sadly i believe it will be churchy or hunt. church could do well getting a new start though somewhere else where he could get consistent first team action. maybe next year if he moves we could see him put in 15 for another club. i would personally love to see that!

My point was that he had the raw talent/quality/potential, whatever you want to call it, but obviously it hasn't worked out for some reason. However, I do still think he'll do a decent job for another team.

Lets be realistic here Pog>Roberts>Hunt>ALF>Church. If we do bring in another reported striker such as Defoe or Rhodes then hes definitely gone, if not then he'll get limited game time and probably go in January.
