Wimb Top quaLOLity trolling by some of the above, makes the rainy day go that much quicker.
If anyone's actually seriously offended or accusing STAR of wrong doing then honestly it's £10 to join a group that directly helps Reading fans and is non-profit. Anyone can join and anyone can stand for a position on the board, it's not as if you have to wait for membership or it's limited by numbers.
The fans forum was put on and organised by STAR for members and they invited Brian McDermott to speak to it's members, a request Brian obviously said yes too. This wasn't something put on by the club and then restricted to members of STAR.
Of course not everyone is going to be able to make it, but if you're a STAR member you get a summary of what was said emailed to you in their 'Reading Matters' email.
I don't think anyone is naive enough to expect everything said to remain private, that would be utterly foolish but it might surprise some of you to know that a group of people can generally understand the concept that what's said in the room stays in the room. You expect the odd snippet to make it out on twitter or get referenced in another thread but that's a little bit different to a blow-by-blow list description in its own thread.
Cypry made a mistake, it wasn't a heinous error nor is it something he deserves to get roasted over but a little I feel is deserved for lacking a little bit of common sense. As he said, it wasn't said in the room but the 'whats said in the room stays in the room' idea has been used at previous forums and was mentioned by the club on the OS before the event. That coupled with the conspicuous absence of any general reporting (The clubs OS, GetReading, other posters here, The Tilehurst End, Twitter) might helped hint at the fact it wasn't for general publication.
If people are moaning because it costs £10 to join STAR and they don't think it's fair to have to pay to hear Brian speak then I can only presume you'll be up in arms at any other organisation that doesn't make everything available 100% for free, when others have paid something for a little bit extra value.

starliaison As someone who has a business to run rather than spend all my time on here I apologise that I have not been replying to everyone who is slagging off STAR.
Yes it is run by volunteers (not amateurs but people who have lots of other things to do) and so things do not always happen as fast as they would if it were our job, but it is also successful at what it does. The fact that STAR members were trusted enough by Brian that he was happy to tell us more than anodyne press conferences (a special meaning to those who were there) is because of what we have done over the last 10 years. If that is ruined by one post on here (and that is entirely possible both with the team management and the club management not trusting us in future) then those of you complaining that we are seen to censor the forum will have even less information in the future. Enjoy

Mike Hunt So where can I find a summary about what was spoken about?
I live in another country, and was keen to attend, but work commitments and the cost of flights would not allow me to make it.
