I have total faith in BMcD and NH, but I will feel a lot more comfortable once we have signed another couple of decent defenders.

I don't know what everyone else has seen of him, but from the handful of games where I saw Connolly, I'm not sure if we should be looking for someone better. Fullback is not his natural position and I thought it showed a bit on occasions last season.

Looks like Clyne's off to Southampton. Thought Frazer Richardson looked like one of their better players last year, so will be interesting to see what happens to him.

Player would prefer a move to West Ham or Fulham. Reluctant to move to Southampton and being pushed into it by his agent. Still very unlikely he will end up at Reading as he have pretty much withdrawn our interest, but he knows, as we certainly spoke to Palace about him.

Close Jorno friend who covers Palace for a London Paper and also is a huge Palace fan. Always been reliable with regards to Palace news. Sadly knows no more than us regarding transfer at other clubs.

Big = 3 letters
Ern = 3 letters
ITK = 3 letters.

Coincidence? I don't think so!

Rumours on twitter suggest we have agreed terms and given Clyne a contract.

Fee agreed with Palace, now up to the player to choose us or Southampton.

We have offered him a better contract then Palace. We are hoping to get him to sign before the end of the week. The fee is rumoured to be £4-£6million.

I would be delighted if we managed to get Clyne.

In my opinion we are in desperate need of a RB and although I'd prefer Simpson because of his experience and ability right now, Clyne definitely has the potential to be a far better player than Simpson in future.

To be honest I'd be happy with any 4 of the 5 RB we have been linked with being Simpson, Naughton, Clyne or Gunter, but I wouldn't be overly thrilled with Luke Young.

Clyne is certainly the sort of player that we would go after but I cannot see us paying anything like that amount unless it is say 2M rising to 5M with loads of add ons like PL survival etc.

Rumours suggest that is what Saints offered him. It seems like it is around £2.5million according to the ever reliable: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... al-1140886

So when the Daily Mail announced the TSI takeover before there had been a whisper of it anywhere else you refused to believe it until it was on the OS presumably?
