Prepare yourself. It may get a lot nastier than that gif.

Was there a reason you didn't read any of the other 20 or so threads on this or are you just as stupid as you seem?

Mags, do us a favour and merge this with the Premier League Squad rules thread please. Oh, and have TheSiege assassinated. You're a mod; you can do that, right?

I apologise for bringing a sensible question into a 'Rumours and Gossip' thread. In future, please don't join in with Adult conversations, Thanks.

I apologise for bringing a sensible question into a 'Rumours and Gossip' thread. I appreciate the input from all of you clowns who have scanned my posts without understanding them and will note who you are for future reference. However, will someone with an IQ bigger than single figures reply to this thread? Who is the player that may transform our season and keep us in the Prem? Suggestions:- Vaz Te, Whittingham, Buzacky, Zaha, Snodgrass?

Rockhead - You may have given too much away with the name! In future, please don't join in with Adult conversations, Thanks.

Liking you every post.....

I was just letting you know that there is already a very similar thread on the team board. I didn't actually criticize your content (although I don't much like it). Maybe it's you who is scanning my posts. And what the bloody hell do you mean 'Adult Conversations'? I am a flipping adult! I'm just not a bloody pensioner like you.

Anyway. To answer your post properly, I think Buzaky for free would be a very good acquisition.

Sieges are bad news - never any winners.
Just ask anyone from St Petersburg.

Like your style ~ Say Little, Talk cr*p. The Leeds website needs people like you!

TBH just bored of new users posting same ol' same ol' topics...doesn't take much to actually bother to take a few minutes to read through the threads already going rather than just blazing in and starting up yet another thread with a topic that is featured in numerous other threads!!!

This site doesn't need new users like you...or are you just a case of a multiple name user!

Excellent thread TheSiege.

Unfortunately, after Mariappa and probably Simpson I don't think we'll bring anyone else in and even if we do it won't be the icing on the cake. Possibly a light dusting of icing sugar or a nice jam filling but I'm not sure we have the budget for the cherry on top of the ice cream sundae just yet.

Okay, may I join your 'adult' discussion? We won't sign Vaz Te, Whittingham, Buszaky, Zaha, Snodgrass etc. Vaz Te is a prick and simply doesn't fit the mould in terms of attitude. Whittingham is being offered a new contract with all the money the owners have pissed into the 'Red Dragons' or whatever, and they won't sell. Snodgrass is being made the highest earner at Leeds, and Zaha is a selfish player who blows hot and cold, and the asking price is way above his actual value. Buszaky could happen I guess, I'll give you that. Congratulations on naming a footballer who might sign for Reading, with not even a questionable rumour to back it up. Shall we continue this game? Matty Upson, Emile Heskey, Jimmy Bullard, Lee Camp. Bored yet? My point proven.

We will sign another right-back, maybe another keeper to allow both McCarthy and Andersen out on loan, and possibly another striker, but I can't see it being any of those. The manager is obliged to pick a squad of up to 25 players and he will do so according to whether or not players are in his plans. If he names only 24 players, it's highly unlikely that he'll run off and spaff a load of cash on a player we don't actually need at the last minute. The player that could transform our season will either be one who is already at the club, or a player who we are yet to purchase, however there is no guarantee that one player will individually make the difference as McDermott stresses the importance of everybody working as a team.

Right, that was utterly trivial, has that covered everything?

So I would think this is it:

GK (2)
Federici
Andersen/McCarthy/Taylor

FB (4)
Cummings
Gunter
Harte
Shorey

CB (4)
Gorkss
Pearce
Mariappa
Morrison

WM (5)
Kebe
McAnuff
Robson-Kanu
McCleary
Antonio

CM (4)
Leigertwood
Karacan
Guthrie
Tabb

ST (6)
Roberts
Hunt
Le Fondre
Pogrebnyak
Church
Sheppard

OUT: Gunnarsson, Williams, Mills

Under 21: Henly, Santangelo, Kapino, Keown, Hector, MacDonald, Sweeney, Arnold, Webb, Obita, Losasso, Taylor, D'Ath, Ugwu, Samuel

Those in italics are either potential signings that are likely but are yet to be confirmed or players who are probably on their way, in other words not certain of being at the club.
I've checked the rules and Morrison and Sheppard do have to be registered in the 25 but they are the youngest, anyone younger does not. The only players set to miss out on this providing Joseph leaves as expected are Bryn and Brett, however they may find their way in if Church and Antonio leave.
As for the GK situation, it will probably be Federici plus one other with either McCarthy/Andersen (or both if Taylor comes in) going out on loan. I'd like to think both of them could go out on loan with Henly or Kapino on the bench (not using up a squad place) is an option but I doubt that somewhat.

I think that's everyone, hopefully no glaring omissions

Have the rules change for this season then? In previous years anyone under 21 on the 1st Jan the year the season starts doesn't have to be registered, Morrison turned 21 on 8th Jan 2012. I also think we'll have 3 keepers.

These rules don't tend to make any difference for teams apart from the 'big 4' (or whatever it is now). Even last year as we expanded our squad for Europa, we got in all the players we needed into the squad. That's a squad with barely any U-21's in it (Delap just missed out by a few birthdays).

Teams like Man City struggle because they pay obscene amounts to players, so when they reach the max number, there are going to be some wasting 100k a week in the reserves and with no chance of getting a game.

Help me out here. If the limit is 25 over-age

I think this is who we have (presuming the two heavily touted signings happen)

Antonio/Sheppard/Williams don't look likely to make the 25. Presuming (sadly) the Gunnar won't.

Mills?

Are we leaving room for one/two late arrivals?

Goal
3 Federici/McCarthy/Taylor?

RB

5 Gunter/Cummings

LB

7 Harte/Shorey (Mills)

CB
10 Pearce/Gorkss/Marriapa/ (Morrison/Hector/Sweeney)

CM

14 Guthrie/Elwood/Karacan/Tabb (McAnuff)

Wings

18 Kebe/McLeary McAnuff/HRK (Obita) (Mills)

Strikers

23 Pog/Roberts/Hunt/Alf/Church (McLeary)(HRK)

I thought Morrison wont count as one of the 25 as he was younger than 21 before 1 Jan this year?
