Has he given the usual "great club, lots of ambition, was a no-brainer" interview yet?

McCleary is actually number 12.

McCarthy is 21

Guthrie wearing number 20 in the photos - one less vacant number for Pogrebnyak.

It's a punishment in a game of keepy ups that hunty insists on playing he sometimes plays at halftime when he is a sub, McCarthy is crap at it.

I know... but McCarthy is the only one I've seen who gets punished every time.

I was chatting to a steward at the AFC game yesterday, he was a Fulham fan and said he was told by someone ITK that Fulham didn't push the boat out to get him because he was unfit and trains badly. If that's that case he will struggle to fit in at Reading, a bit like Manset. The minimum we expect from all players is effort, chasing lost causes and trying to get on the end of things.

I hope he's wrong.

Did he have any sugar for the grapes, I wonder?

Of course a steward who supports Fulham would know more about Pogrebnyak than any of the rest of us.

My old housemate from uni is a Fulham fan who goes pretty regularly, and texted me saying, word for word, "He is pretty selfless, isn't a cheat and is a handfull for defences."

The steward you spoke to will have seen him play a lot too, but my friend's description is exactly the sort of character we should be signing and I know that Hammond and McD will have audited his personality and attitude before signing him. I don't expect him to be lazy or a bad trainer.

and didn't McD say he was a very hard working striker, chasing down defenders, holding the ball up and getting on the end of crosses

I have a contact at the training ground and this certainly fits in with what he's seen down at Hogwood over the last couple of weeks.

I think he is lazy, he hasn't even bothered turning up for training or the first friendly of the season. Bad signing, McDermott OUT!

Seems to be the prevailing bitter opinion of many Fulham fans. Full of praise for him when he was playing for them and when they thought he would be signing permanently, but bitter and slagging him off since he opted for us.

Brian claims he is a typical Reading player and says we will see that straight away so I'll guess we'll see.
