Finally, most people know that Brian is selective with his words to the media. He took the opportunity to be honest at the forum, and it sounds like that puts the club in the unfortunate situation of practically lying about events in January. Not having read the offending thread or been to the forum, thats my assumption. I cant think any of us would like this "fact" publicised widely, because if the players were to consider this when we finish 8th this season, history will no doubt repeat itself. 3 years, continuity, lets not upset the boat. Its in all of our interests to accept no one is to blame, the thread is gone, who knows what happened, in the words of Brian, "We move on".

Having read Cyprys post, and read this post.

I have no idea what you are referring to. So yet another revelation from the Fans Forum accidentally leaked.

Fact is it should have been announced to the room before the event started, and they should not have relied on people reading the club or STAR website

Royal Lady LOL @ anyone in the community of Reading giving a flying one what RFC do if they're not fans or supporters.
Exactly, but that won't stop STAR donating funds collected from members to their good community causes.

Has anyone mentioned that nothing posted on here from the forum was at all secret, BM knows the game, if an answer needs fudging then he will. Just because he feels more open does not mean he gives anything away he would not happily see in the Sun the next day.

Perhaps the next forum STAR could ask the club if what was said in the room was allowed out of the room afterwards?

+1 I expect the club will be in touch and STAR will send you a threatening PM asking for this to be removed.

I'm sure Brian wouldn't have said anything about a player being free to stay but also free to leave/go on loan if they seek first team football publicly without first having that discussion with the player.

Is anything "secretive" ever given away at this type of forum? If so, can someone give me an example? (not from the most recent one, natch).

Agree with that, and with what biscuit said which is why I'v apologised to Cypry for having a bit of a pop, bit harsh to expect everyone to be quite as clued up. The poster himself has admitted he did make a bit of a mistake and apologised for it and that should be the end of it and as far as I can tell neither STAR, the club nor anyone else holds a grudge against him.

It shouldn't be the end of it - STAR has a lot to learn from this whole sorry scenario. They need to have more dialogue with their members, need to spend more time looking at exactly what it is 'non-members' want in order to get them to join, and look at new ways in making the whole experience better for everyone. Starting with making Fans Forum notes available the day after the event, whether that's only to STAR members or not.

Z175 I'm very surprised at the abuse of STAR in this thread. In my humble opinion, its unwarranted and bang out of order.

I'm not a do-gooder myself, and I'm not a committee type person and don't normally appreciate such people. But in the case of STAR, they have an important role to bridge the fans and the club.

For a select handful who govern it like trigger happy big bollocks. Thats the problem!

and Im sure Brian has bigger things to worry about like.... i dont know, maybe preparing for his first season as a manager in the worlds biggest league!

I meant the end of it in terms of the club/STAR/whoever blaming Cypry... admitted a few posts up that STAR need to learn a few lessons including the one you've mentioned.

- I don't believe B McD would reveal any information too sensitive in this forum
- I also understand that B McD would reveal a bit more in this forum than he would in a press conference. Part by design and part by the fact that we are all human beings and when we feel comfortable and talk we sometimes reveal a bit more..

1. The main issue is that STAR were not even professional enough to brief new members (it would have taken 30 seconds for someone to stand up and say something)
2a After this failing they saw fit to not take any responsibility for this and to blame Cypry.
2b The way they went about this and the tone of the PM showed a high-level of self-importance and a high HELM Rating.

Whilst this is one example, it lead Reading fans to comment on wider issues such as:

3. Many fans do not feel they represent us/Reading Fans adequately/at all
4. Are these guys a bunch of helmets?

Maguire
Cypry I had a PM on Friday from STAR, effectively telling me that the situation was my fault, apparently I should have known about the history of these events without needing to be told. It was also made clear that the club and Brian personally are "very upset" - again, the implication being that my actions, and my actions alone have upset them, and STAR now have a lot to do to repair the relationship.

Finally I was told that STAR have nothing against me "because you have shown remorse" - again the implication is that all this is my fault

What a shower of total helmets.

helmets doesn't go far enough. Self-important, deluded kuntbuckets seems closer.
