andrew1957 err... it was you who said you were a member.

Snowball BTW, being in Mensa was utter shite. They made Ian Royal look human.

Yes, So?

I wasn't going on about its "status" or that being in was an accolade or made me look good.

It was a simple fact, and only came up because of this weird 161-Limits current thing, WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE WHEN I BECAME A MEMBER

I love the pattern of these things, especially when Ian comes trawling
to join in and get a sideways compliment. Wuss.

andrew1957 Whilst now regretting setting off this whole issue the FACT is that no one has ever scored more than 161 on a Cattell IIIB test undertaken by British Mensa. The Mensa level for membership is 148. 161 on this test is off the scale well above genius level.

I sat the Cattell Culture Fair IIIA and scored 133 (Mensa level 132).

If anyone has scored more than 161 it was NOT a British Mensa test. There are any number of IQ testing systems available - some scoring up into the 200's - but these are not British Mensa tests.

So guys either you sat another test or you are lying if you say you scored over 161.

Mind you on reflection I guess Snowball might have got 168! It would explain a lot.

Sorry guys, but I just had to answer andrew1957, cos he is a typical 'head in the sand' Mensa 'Member'. It's a thing called evolution. Things change. As with Snowball, when I took the Test, it was under the direction of a College Professor, in an Exam Mode. I took this alone, with just he and I in the room. The professor made all of the contacts with Mensa directly. The score I received from Mensa (Internetional - a direct subsiduary of Mensa) was 164. That since the time that I took the Test, Mensa have 'evolved' and now have all tests done in the same manner, and that they stop their scoring for the Test at 161, has no standing on the Test taken, nor the scores given by Mensa at that time.
If you cannot take what is being stated to you as fact, the loss is yours, for you must have the same reaction to every fact of evolution in the world. Make sure you don't fall off the edge.....!

Yup

and when I sat the test I had to chisel my answers on slate.

I can't remember precisely when I sat the test but I left the RAF in 1970, a mere 42 years ago,
and I sat the test a fair time before I left service.

There is a SLIGHT possibility procedures have changed since then

Yeah, isn't it terrible that some people like to deal in facts
and don't toss out accusations without due consideration?
