Fordham is like the irritating kid in school who prods you with a ruler, making you think its happening, then turns out to be spouting rubbish in the first place

ZacNaloen Johhny Fordham reporting we are not interested anymore

Fordham reporting this on the back of:

Reports had suggested that manager Brian McDermott was planning to make a £4million bid for the midfielder, after watching him in the European championships in Estonia earlier this week.

McDermott said: “I watched Spain versus Estonia and England versus France then came home. I was watching someone, but we won’t go back there (to sign him).”

Does this actually say that we are not interested anymore?

Jonny Fordham should tell Sky Sports that Reading are not interested in Kondogbia. They seem to be mistakenly thinking that they are!

You added that (to sign him) part. Although I don't think this is going to happen the quote itself just says BM won't be going back to that country. It does not dispell any interest

If he is even half as good as Raphael Varane, who he has been compared to, then yes please.

This is bound to alert some of the bigger clubs that are tracking him, I would say the chances of completing this deal are slim, hope I`m wrong.

Kondogbia is rumoured to be at the Madejski stadium tomorrow for talks. I don't believe it though

TheSiege From everything I have heard about this lad, I think, at the right price, he would be a damn good signing. He would not even be part of the 25-man squad due to his age. Moreover, no matter how much RFC deny interest in him - this rumour has been very persistent. Compared to some of the outlandish rumours going about, I would like to believe that this one is true.

Tbf, the Defoe rumour kept going long after we denied it.

I think we should take a punt of Kondogbia and Inzaghi, then I think we will be done for the summer... almost definately

TheSiege Several sites yesterday are claiming that he knows of our interest and that his first preference would be the Prem. BMcD has said his !st team signings are complete but, no manager (I would guess) would close the door entirely on up-and-coming players should they become available. Also, one of Antons interviews focussed on bringing young players into the club and upgrading our academy and players. I would imagine that BMcD meant his 25-man squad when talking about transfers being complete! I, for one, would love to see a steady stream of younger players come into the club.

I agree, however you miss the £4m price tag... still would love to see this guy sign for a sensible fee.

He's 19, would be outside the 25 man squad anyway.
