Maguire I've emailed my Spurs fella this morning so i'll see what he says/if he knows anything.

We defo spoke to Defoe, no matter what the club might say though.

He's got nothing new for me.

In fact i've got nothing new on anything at the moment.

I had a word with a m8 who is a Spurs fan earlier and he couldn't take it any further either.

I'm meeting a spurs fan tonight. I won't bother asking him what he knows because it'll be nothing and we're not after Defoe anyway.

We absolutely did speak to him, and he also expressed an interest in coming here; but because it's such an ambitious move, some corners just wont accept it's genuine. Most were the same with our attempt to bring Sigurdsson back. Yes it was also extremely unlikely, but nevertheless we made a bid, it was accepted, and he was good enough to hear what we had to say.

The only thing I can't get my head around is we must have known what he was earning at Spurs, and roughly what it would take to bring him here. So to be put off by his wage demands just doesn't seem right to me. But it sound very much like it wont happen now, unless something unexpected changes.

You originally said we had made a loan move FL? Are you saying we we had a tranfer accepted? Did your source mention any figures?

Don't think we have a chance in hell of signing Defoe as they have little fire power, but i'm genuinely interested if we put money on the table for a bid which would no doubt would have broken our transfer record.

No, we absoloutely didn't. There was an enquiry, no bid, no contract offer, nothing. Just an enquiry.

pea
Dare to Dr£am
pea This deal has been dead for a long time now.

As for Simpson, he was never our priority target for right back, suggestion is that we expect to have someone else in who McDermott would prefer to Simpson if that is off, and the Gunter rumour resurfacing would support that.

Is Thursday last week really a long time?

HES ABOUT TO SIGN

McDermott said he's too expensive

HES ABOUT TO SIGN

McDermott said he's too expensive again

HES ABOUT TO SIGN

McDermott said he's not joining, he's too expensive

HES ABOUT TO SIGN

OH.. MAYBE HE'S TOO EXPENSIVE...

Slowly but surely catching up, come on you're almost there

I've been wondering how this rumour is still going; it won't happen. Think people have caught on now.

I believe we spoke to Spurs, because McDermott said we spoke to Spurs. We may have also spoken to Defoe at that time, makes sense. I don't believe we agreed a fee or talked to him seriously about wages.

You agree a fee, then you talk to the player in 99% of cases no?
