Amazed to see James Harper signing for Hungerford Town when still only 31.

Extraordinarily rapid descent down in level of football.

Could just be training to get fit and put himself in the shop window?

Jonny Fordham ‏@JonnyFordham
Can't see Harper at Hungerford for long - must just be for pre-season until he gets a club #readinfgc legend Gilkes is the manager there

I think you'll find Bobby Wilkinson is the manager

Gilkes is a coach

James Harper is the Godfather to Wilkinson’s children. He's there as a favour, to get fit, and hopefully find a new club in the FL.

Assuming Wycombe weren't particularly impressed with him during his loan spell then.

Has been spotted down Arborfield kicking a ball against the Pavilion during the summer months.

Out of interest, who do you think has more to offer these days, Harper or Brian Howard?

depends what you're after

someone who runs around his own half not kicking a ball very well or someone who does very little ruunning round the opposition's half kicking the ball fairly well
