Didn't he take it over after the last one? How can he take it over from himself? Or did he do a cheeky sale just before it went into Admin again?

He sold it again after the last CVA, keeping his secured loan on the ground and forgetting about his promise to pay small creditors.

Yes, IIRC he promised to pay everyone owed £2.5K or under in full. None of them have seen single penny.

Was David Norris one of the players they needed to offload?

He's agreed to join Leeds.

Mr Angry I also think its a bit ironic that the Pompey fans are giving these players a hard time; FFS - they WANTED the club to spend money on bringing in these players to help them get promotion, and now they turn on the players!!! This is why I have ZERO sympathy for the Pompey fans; all of this whining "Boo hoo - it wasn't OUR fault...." Er.....yes it was........YOU demanded success; YOU celebrated your tainted FA Cup win with players you couldn't afford, so now man up and take your well deserved day of reckoning as you disappear into the Solent, like a footballing Mary Rose - sinking under the weight of its own arrogance and bullsh1t.

sadly for the players (can't believe I just wrote that) they're the only people who have to be visible to the fans - seen in training, seen playing on matchdays. they're the only people left for Pompey fans to blame till they start mass suicide.

From http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18979636

"Administrator Trevor Birch released a statement on Tuesday adding that of the seven players remaining only three or four had not agreed to a compromise.

And the PST have reiterated his warning that if the club is liquidated, the players will get nothing.

The players who, on a going concern sale are treated as 'football creditors' and must be paid, lose all such rights under liquidation and will be treated as ordinary unsecured creditors. It is unlikely that there will be any significant dividend in a liquidation.

If the club goes into liquidation it will also lose its league position, and its right to the £11m of parachute payments from the Premier League."

If so, it seems a bit of brinkmanship on both sides, to see who'll blink first, but think deals will eventually be done at last minute.

Yep, absolutely. And why should they take a cut? They accepted a fat contract in good faith, now the company is making them out to be a villain because the company did not run itself sufficiently well to be able to pay employees and creditors.

iirc JCB workers (amongst others) agreed to take pay cuts in order than their companies didnt go belly up a couple of years back. Suppose they should have just been mercenary and let the company fold?

But they couldn't could they? They're not rich and they need the cash

Its all very well hiding behind a legal document, doesnt stop you being a f*cking pcunt though.

//On the flip side, i'm happy the players are doing this as I desperately want the obnoxious club to fold

the difference being that if JCB goes out of business, JCB workers and their town lose a major source of employment

footballers can afford to wait and besides, are a lot more likely to move to find work

Except by Agent Kitson who will singlehandedly take revenge for the 7-4 and our relegation at the end of 07-08 when Pimpey let Fulham win 8)

It also sounds to me like Birch is saying oxf*rd you, I get paid in full regardless (in response to TBH). To get the best deal you need to settle now.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/kanu-blame-birch-for-woes-1-4100487

‘We think the administrator is still treating Kanu as an imbecile by making a ridiculous compromise proposal that he should simply give up his entitlement and walk away, while the administrator’s firm receives large fees for negotiating such a smart deal.

‘To the contrary, Kanu who has remained patient and accommodating since 2006, is willing to compromise significantly by a combination of waiving/deferring his entitlement provided he is certain the club will actually be saved and there will be an upside at some date in the future.

‘Absent such a proposal, then the administrator must admit responsibility to the club’s fans for liquidating their club whether on August 10, 2012, or at any other date. He must refrain from blaming anyone else.’

I like the previous sentence from the above link:
Kanu the fact the club is potentially facing liquidation is due to the administrator’s failure to appreciate the consequences of first insulting, offending and then picking a quite unnecessary fight with the club’s secure creditors.

From bbc: Halford is wanted by Nottingham Forest while Huseklepp and Lawrence are also attracting interest leaving just Ben Haim, Kanu and Kitson.

No-one wants you Dave. Sorry.

Players? Halford went to Forest and Huseklepp to Brann.

Club? Not yet...

Pompey's current squadlist:
Liam Lawrence
Ashley Harris (age 18)
Dave Kitson
Tal Ben Haim (£36k a week, refuses to play in League One)
Nwankwo Kanu (currently AWOL in Nigeria, not even fit enough for the bench last season)
Sam Magri (age 17, England U18 captain)
Adam Webster (age 17)
