If Le Fondre can keep his goalscoring ratio up I think we can carry him if it does turn out that he isn't a fully rounded premiership player..... England had the same problem with Gary Lineker.

Options at centre-half are still an issue for me. Gorkss, Pearce, Mariappa and Morrison. Think we still need an experienced Premier League centre back and at least one more option at the back. Please don't consider Gunnarsson an option.

Why waste money on Prem experience for a position where it's obvious Brian already has a tough choice picking 2 from 3? Not only that, there's no point in Morrison staying here unless he stands a reasonable chance of proving he's worth his place in the squad.

Erm, Gunnarsson would provide a perfectly adequate backup option in the event that we suffer some kind of injury/suspension crisis at the back.

First choice will always be two of Pearce, Gorkks and Mariappa, in the event that one is injured/suspended, Morrison and/or Bryn will be on the bench. Morrison/Gunnarsson are only likely to get a start if two of the three first choices are out for some reason.

If one of the first choices gets knocked out with a long term injury then there's always the loan market, or January window to strengthen...

How would we get a loan outside the windows? We're not FL any more.....

I’m surprised that no one has mention the fact that in the three matches in Portugal which involved the senior players none of the forwards managed a goal. Seeing that Chelsea have stated that they would like Romelu Lukaku to go out on loan would it not be a good idea to at least make an attempt to sign him on for a year?

Couldn't agree more, arreff. We've done a great job in strengthening the team, but a huge doubt remains about our goalscoring ability. It must be a near certainty that a proven scorer will arrive before the start of the season.

Small piece on Lukaku in The Times today saying that he wishes to remain in the Prem if given permission to go out on loan.

Right wing is an area of weakness as - apart from 2/3 games a season - Kebe is either hopeless or injured - as cover, McLeary in largely unknown to us, while Antonio is about to be flogged to Sheffield Wednesday.
