Extended-Phenotype Don't give a shit about the jumping ship aspect. It's the fact he didn't put any effort in while waiting for the move I take issue with. My company wouldn't be too happy with me if I spent my time peeing in the drinking fountain during my notice.

Not sure the analogy holds, I wonder if your companies customers would really care?

They would if the company failed to meet their targets because everyone was off sick. Same as fans get upset if a player's performance effects their team.

So it does.

But it doesn't because there was no peeing in any fountain during Shorey's final year.

Yeah he wasn't particularly good, but no worse than guys like Ivar.

and if he basically is seeing out his contract then it's effectively the same as seeing out your notice so the work analogy doesn't hold particualrly IMHO

Do we really need an analogy here anyway? Can't we discuss the actual issue :?:

It isn’t a f/cking analogy to be honest. It’s saying my company’s loyal customers expecting decent service wouldn’t be happy with an employee bunking his f/cking duties and screwing them over just because he’s on his way out.

If your company and cumstomers WOULD be happy, congratulations for landing a job in a backwards parallel universe where everyone sucks shit up through their arse and vomits cake and f/cking biscuits.

No, although WBC is one of our clients. We have to keep our shoes on when we are in their office though, so it's not really the same.

If a player isn't motivated to play then you have to call into question the man management skills of the management team.

If a player wants to leave, you tell them they need to play out of their skin to attract a move to a big team otherwise they may end up at Aston Villa.

Best game in a Reading shirt for an awful long time today Nicky. Great to have you back.

He played well today, and that freekick against QPR aside, I didn't think he was much of an improvement on Harte til today

Just thought I'd applaud Shorey for his consistent performances this season. Really the only player who's performing at the premier league level.

And for those who doubted his application. Ha at you!

robinsfriday Have Shorey back here? In three words.

No. Effing. Way.

I have nothing but love and respect for what our team of 2005-2006 but the last thing we need is a reunion party with the likes of Shorey and Doyle coming back. Move on.

Lovely.

Ian Royal If I haven't already said it: Shorey can fuk right off. Over 30, left with a stinking attitude and hasn't pulled up any trees since. The only player from the 106 team that can compete with Stephen "stupiddisruptivegit" Hunt in the never-darken-our-door-again stakes.

Umm.

LumpWarden No No No No No

shorey can just go and do one as far as i'm concerned. This man was instrumental in our relegation, dismantling of everything the 106 side was about with his billy big b@llx attitude.

we can and will do better

Right.

paultheroyal
Ian Royal Serious meh. But he's good back up to push Harte and make sure he performs. We've seen how he can slip in quality if he doesn't feel he's being pushed.

If Shorey is backup to Harte we do have problems down the left side.

Good point.
