LightwaterRoyal Is he not a winger? Fridays_Legacy mentioned we were after a striker and midfielder.

@FL Do you consider winger as Forward or midfield?

I would class a winger as a midfielder, but if you're referring to Zaha he has played as a winger, just behind the front one/two and as a striker.

I know we're very keen on bringing in one more striker if we can, and three strikers appear to top the list. Two play in the Championship, the other the Premiership, and it isn't Defoe. I've been asked not to add any more at the moment..

Out of interest, how long until we can be put out of the misery of idle speculation. Have these strikers been linked to us previously this Summer?

It never went away, and nor has our interest; but their chairman is very reluctant to sell and it makes any deal very unlikely.

FL ..I think their chairman wanted a bidding war which so far hasn't materialised ...and probably won't either....whether he changes his stance will be interesting to see ...

On the Rhodes subject: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19061532

"Blackburn have made a tentative inquiry for Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes but were told the player is not for sale."

Lol at you muppets. FL is winding you in again:

See's rumour - believable?
Yes - confirm our 'interest' and make up some random BS on it.
No - 'haven't heard anything' or 'chances are very slim' - keeps the door open.

Rumour has developed - looking likely?
Yes - make up more random BS, spoken to club/player etc.
No - looks unlikely - make up random BS why.

Player signs for another club:
Make up random BS about how they offered a 'better deal' or similar.

Player signs:
Claim ITK status

Other ITKer or newspaper puts forward contrasting evidence:
Defend random BS or try to slip away unnoticed

hard to be sure. 'fee agreed, watford tried to raise the price' is probably a load more BS.
If you check the thread, it was BBTSB who started it and it was reported elsewhere that a bid was accepted before FL claimed it too

No, it was FL who got there before BBTSB. Have a look for it, FL posts the link to him breaking it two days earlier in a different thread.

Fair enough, I only did a quick search. He's still a massive WUM though.

I'm far from a wum. I share no interest in leading anyone on, or piggybacking on current rumour. If you read my tweets you'll know we are still very interested in Jordan Rhodes, but a deal is highly unlikely because their chairman doesn't want to sell and is asking over the odds for the striker. Today various sources are picking up on our interest once again. As I said recently, our interest never ended and we have had a couple of offers rejected. You know we are very interested in bringing Long back. Despite what the clubs are saying, we did have an offer on the table before Hodgeson left, and it remained there until Clarke came in, and was then dismissed. The third striker I was asked not to say who, but considering where this discussion is taking place, it should offer you some sort of a clue. I said after Mariappa came to fruition that I care little for being right or wrong. For every bit of praise, there is ten times as much stick. Each to their own.

Who/what are these 'various sources'?

With FL we can't assume any rumour he posts is a sign of a signing being particularly close as the rumours usually start early in proceedings. This is why compared to gazzerloyalroyal for example he has less hits. But what he has got right and with the detail he has suggests more than just a WUM.
