Reported Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham target Jem Karacan has seen contract talks with Reading stall.

reading that makes it seem like lazy journalism to me. we sign new players on big contracts, so they assume current players are not happy with there pay in comparison to new signings. the star look to see a key player who is soon out of contract and say talks have stalled. well i hope that is it anyway.

I thought Jem said he nearly joined Besiktas when Rodgers was in charge.

He did. Besiktas in 2009, but they haven't been the only team; he flatly rejected Brighton in the summer of 2008, which I think is when we were actively trying to move him on [and which he obviously was very unhappy with].

There have been 3 or 4 difference chances to leave before 2009, but Karacan was always resolute in wanting to stay and fight for his place.

Good lad, won't be going anywhere just yet.
