...thoroughly depressed at the the thought that these cheating weasels will unbelievably fight another day.

Relegation is far too good for them - I wanted them to die, there is hope though that Kanu can win his case and Haim can stick to his £38k a week claim.

LJ Literally. Yeah they may be a bunch of idiots, but they're fighting the cause of their club in a manner which I was very impressed with. And okay, but it would more likely be for the local rivalry of it. Would we manage 1000 fans at a game over an hour away against a team we have no former association with? I don't think we would.

I'm not knocking your opinion I'm merely arguing against it. On my various trips to Fratton and Portsmounth I've found the fans voilent and ungracious. Since all this shit has come out I've also seen them utterly convinced they've done no wrong. Be more happy if they agreed to recind their FA Cup win, hand us back Tommy Smith and expunge the criminally pathetic 1-0 defeat against Fulham and the 120 million we've lost in revienue after being relegated. Will they do that? Will they bollocks.

So, huzzah to the supporters who think it's OK to do this. Yeah. I'm impressed.

No offence LJ, I just really don't have a lot of time for any of them.

Could not have put it any better. They rubbed our noses in it big time when we were relegated. They should have there cup win taken away, while every club relegated during there Prem stay have the money thay lost.

Gotta laugh at this rubbish.

Not rubbish. You would be hard pushed to find any football fan outside of Portsmouth who would not agree with those posts.

RR - JC has a point - my complete "anti-pompey" stance is well apparent in this thread - and is a feeling shared by most football supporters up and down the land.

....and for the record - I don't buy the "best supporters in the land" line either - most of them just seem to be hangers-on to the retard with the bell!

....and I haven't seen him mortgage his bookshop to save them either!!

Ben Haim got mega stick from Pompey fans at The Rec (v Shots) last week.

Jeering and waving £10 notes at him etc ...the pompey fans were hoarse

Lawrence apparently played on unnoticed

And there we go. Complete ignorance of what got them in the shit in the first place. If they hadn't agreed the contracts for players like Ben Haim they wouldn't have won the FA Cup and "enjoyed" those seasons of relative sucess in the prem.

Most of me wants them to fold

But these could be exciting times for Portsmouth (and indeed the majority of English lower league clubs)

Having worked with a couple of pompey fans in recent months (and hearing them out)..the pheonix thing could spark something really good

A couple of seasons of getting beasted (and beaten)...but having to "play the kids etc" sounds exciting

Local grown talent...etc

I cannot think of anything better than going back to "grass roots" with your own locally trained and cultured players playing for your own local club

I hope that Pompey fold...but they won't

But i will be hoping that their kids will set out a few markers to other clubs, that they do not have to overpay overseas players

I see them carrying on in League One and building a team on a budget they can't afford to try to get back up as soon as they can.

Yeah I suppose they could accept their fate and wait for the end of their club, but its not the fans fault that their owners have been reckless. Say Anton starts splashing ludicrous amounts of cash next season if we stay up in an attempt to get Europe? Now a few fans would moan, but most would embrace the spending, without fearing the consequences, or in Portsmouth's case, that there's a possibility that they don't actually have any money at all. Then we could be in exactly the same place as Pompey, and I doubt most of our fans would react a whole lot differently to the way theirs have.

As for their fans being pcunts, most football fans are pcunts in their own way, I mean look at our merry bunch of fickle mongs.

You know someone's lost the agrument when they start wildly hypothesising about future events.

I'm clearly not going to change your point of view. You're clearly not going to change mine.

For every minute of hurt inflicted on my club because of their fiscal policies I wish them the same.

Portsmouth have cost my club over 100 million pounds in lost revenue.

Portsmouth have cheated their way to a trophy.

Portsmouth have taken players away from my club with the promise of bigger wages that they could not fund: Jamie Ashdown, Glenn Little, Tommy Smith, Linvoy Primus (OK, Linvoy might be stretching it a bit)

Portsmouth are truly a cancer on the sport that I love.

If their fans can't show a bit of humility about it then they can go fcuk themselves.

Waving £10 notes at Ben Haim shows their complete ignorance of the situation they find themselves in.

Very fair points, all of which I agree with besides the oxf*rd of the fans. The club deserve liquidation, but the fans do not, IMO. They are not the worst fans around by a long shot, IMO, and its not nice to see fans gradually losing something they love so dearly. That's all.

Very even-minded of you. You are by far the bigger man here, because personally I am  at their misfortune. Feel sorry for the fans? As has been pointed out on here, they were quick to sing about Sol Campbell lifting the FA Cup when they got some taunting at the Madejski last season, showing a complete ignorance about the situation the club got themselves into.

If it had been us with that level of spending, I would have been worried. At least with us there would have been a decent level of income to the the club with exec boxes, sponsership bigger crowds etc. But we would still be losing shit loads of money. In Pompeys case they had a crap gound small home support and a wage bill bigger than the annual turnover of the club. I don't remember to many Pompey fans at the time worried this was a massive car crash waiting to happen.
They went along for the ride and boy did everyone else have to suffer.
I remember being outside Fratten Park after the 3-1 defeat in 06, some Pompey chav strolled buy and said "Your playing with the big boys now, get back to the fizzy league where you belong". Wonder where he is now?

On the contrary Floyd - it showed that they actually did understand what the club had done and were happy to shove it down our throats. Makes the £10 waving Pompey fans at Aldershot hypocrites as well as retards.

LJ - We've done this to death. I do understand where you're coming from. Excuse the strong language about a subject thats very close to my heart.
