Just read through WSC's preview: we're tipped to be bottom by the consensus of panelists, just as we were for the 06/07 season.

More pleasing is the review of the season 11/12, almost universal approval from last season's Championship clubs (even got grudging approval from the WHU contributor), the sole exception coming from Watford, who slags us every year.

Which issues are they in?

Last season: 1st, Championship Title odds: 10,000-1 Going down: 6-5

Summer update Reading's struggle to interest neutrals is over: this season under their wealthy new Russian ownership should provide plenty of headlines. Spending has been relatively modest so far – quantity over stellar quality – though Pavel Pogrebnyak's rumoured £60,000 a week is a sign of things to come. If they are struggling by Christmas, expect a lavish January.

Key man Pogrebnyak excelled for Fulham and needs to do the same here if his new side is to avoid a long, drawn-out struggle.

Achilles heel Midfield options are solid but unspectacular: adding some creative, scoring talent would seriously change the outlook.

Headline generator Katsia Zingarevich – wife of the owner and tabloid dream. Won "Supermodel of the World" as a teenager.

And it's better than the Spanish league where there are only 2 teams under 100-1.

I'm having a flick through the leftover extras that came with all of yesterday's papers at work, and have got as far as The Peoples new season supplement, which is surprisingly positive! Dave Kidd and Greavsie both have us down as surprise package of the season saying "Finished last season like a train and are investing heavily to ensure they not only stay in the top-flight but seek a comfortable mid-table berth. Brian McDermott is a very bright and capable manager." and "There's always at least one newly promoted side wh set a terrific early season pace and my money is on reading to tear it up in the early part of the season. They may fade later in the season but sold stay way clear of relegation." However, Steve Bates has B McD down for the chop, evidently unaware that he's been guaranteed at least 18 months, stating "New West brom chief Steve Clarkr could find himself under pressure if he doesn't get off to a good start. But promotion winning bosses Nigel Adkins at Southampton and Reading's Brian McDermott could also be in trouble."

I'll pop any more Reading write ups if I find them, it's the quietest shop in all the lands, so should get through a good chunk of the supplements. And fcuk off etcccccc

It also claims that were a passing side, whereas I thought we were pretty direct last season!

As with Swansea and Norwich before them, Reading have shown that it is possible to win promotion by playing football. McDermott's side has its ball-winners, but the emphasis is on getting the ball on the deck.

Not sure I would goes as far as all three to stay but, as much as it pains me, I think west ham will probably be comfortably up and then I feel we are in a better position to stay up than Soton and a few other sides
