BonBohMr AngryMaria Kr. To close the discussion on him leaving and apparently scooping the official site by my estimation of a quick glance over the recent headlines and the fact that nothing's been posted here yet, Bryn's signed a new 1 year deal.
http://www.mbl.is/sport/enski/2012/05/01/gat_ekki_annad_en_tekid_thessu_bodi/ (interview with the man himself)
It's longer by a little bit in the actual paper (which I don't have with me atm so can't directly translate it),in the addition he mainly says his role next season will be similar to thisone, be ready if the manager needs him. Also mentions something along the lines of the setup of the Prem being better (must mean that there's fewer games and thus less strain on him/other players in that sense I recon) and he quips a reference in to older interviews about coming home that he'd said to KR that he'd be back assuming nothing drastic changed. Guess going up was the only thing that could've changed things. Says he's putting that off for a year, but plans haven't changed about which team he wants to come home to play for.
Funny. This is the Google translator of the article. Are you really sure Bryn is staying for a year?
Brynjar Bjorn Gunnarsson will remain in the camp of the English football club Reading for next season. Brynjar confirmed in an interview with yesterday but for some pointed up that he was walking home from a professional and would play with his former club, Manchester, in the summer. "I spoke with the manager before I went home and it's clear that I stay at Reading. First I was made this I found I could not help but take it where we have come up in the Premiership, "said Brynjar Morgunbladid , who was just returned to Iceland. Brynjar Bjorn has been 15 years in the professional and the last seven years, played with Reading, who recently secured a victory in the Premier B league and game that the division of their best again but the team was there last in 2008.

TheSiege The man has been an excellent RFC player and, quite obviously, a star in the dressing room. Should he be one of the 25 this season - No chance at all! Coach - Yes.

TheSiege We have to play a game that involves confirming 25 players. Any RFC fan who would prefer Gunnarson to Rhodes or Whittingham or Defoe or Zaha, please say so now!

I was on the same late night train as him on the way back to Reading from London a few weeks ago and I can report that he was drinking a can of San Pellegrino limonata. That's no coach's drink: it's an obvious indication that he's in full pre-season training!...Unless he was using the can to conceal a stronger kind of drink.

TheSiege This Gunnarsson thing has been going on for a long time. I got the impression that RFC wanted him to remain with us in a coaching capacity. He was obviously pushing for an extra years playing contract. Continuously, over the last 6 weeks, stories in the press have said 'Gunnarsson to sign a new contract' but, nothing ever happens. I think that BMcD has already realised that Gunnarsson will not add to our Prem options and will only take him as a coach. We still have money and a good signing to take the place in the 25 that Gunnarsson might have taken, would be a good move!
