"Portsmouth randomly chooses a family and sit them in the dugout 30 minutes before the game," he said.

"It doesn't upset the groundsman, the manager doesn't need the dugout, they get to see the players come and go right at the heart of the action - that has got them hooked, they're not going to support another club.

So that's how they plan to get arround the transfer ban.

Everything that's wrong with modern football right there + Joey Barton and Chelsea FC of course.

Basically Chanrai has written off his £17M "loan" to the club using the ground as surety because the administrators are going to Court to prove that the ground is worth less than £3m; once they do that, he is going to lose £14M anyway; as a result, he is walking away now.

Hopefully never to be seen in English football every again.

And as for the football club? Well, that bell they love to bang on about isn't chiming; its tolling.

Bye bye Pompey.

If they do get wound up then there will be no football for Portmouth fans this new season (they'll all have to come and watch Reading instead  )

It'll give them a year or so to lose the stigma of the current PFC and start afresh with a new name and get organised into one of the non-leagues. And good luck to the supporters who set that up and support the new club.

I'm stuck in two minds, one thinking that it would be great to see them liquidated, and the other (in an equal measure of bloodlust) hoping to see them get rinsed 5-0 every week.

If he is physically 'walking away' and writing off the loan, then that will give the supporters club access to the Parachutes, which would suggest to me that the club will survive. If he is just saying, 'sod it, I've had enough' (which to me it appears) then he will still require the payment of that loan, which would then mean the club will most likely be liquidated as an agreement between him and the PST isn't going to happen.

This needs a lot of clarification.

He's no longer bidding to buy the club.

But I'd be amazed if he's prepared to stop being a creditor, too. Why would he?

Agreed; except that if the administrators get their way (about the valuation of Fratton Park), then the amount he will be owed will be slashed from £17M to £2.75M.

Season tickets money was paid into a ring-fenced account, so moneys will be available to be refunded.

The only team that laid down and got us relegated was Reading.

Whats the joke?

Do you think the administrator should work for nothing?

The administrator (and their charges) were agreed to by the creditors at the time Pompey went into administration, so its not like the fees are a shock; all that is happening is that Chanrai is simply looking for excuses to walk away (and don't forget, HE wanted Androniku (sp.) as the adminsitrator; who had been the administrator when Pompey went into adminstration when in the Premier League, and who authorised - whilst Pompey were still IN adminsitration - the ridiculous contracts with players like Kitson and Kanu that has caused such a prob lem this time.)

Obviously. Does a comment like that make you clever?

Did I say that?

Straw poll....If anyone can be arsed to prove my point...Please indicate your feelings toward this statement:

Is 4.8m a Joke amount for an administrator to be paid by a Football club on the brink of liquidation.

Yes or No.

i would guess most, like me, would suggest Yes.

I don't think it's a joke that Birch & co are claiming this amount,
I think the joke is on pompey for not realising this is what it'll cost them.
The fees would have been set once he was appointed, the longer it has dragged on the higher the cost,
& these accountants will make sure they get paid before others.
Whether it's the full amount upon liquidation is prob the gamble they take when they tender for the job.
