Is there an award for the slowest bar staff in the Prem

by mbb » 18 Aug 2012 21:05

In the East Stand today that was ridiculous!! Got to get a better standard of staff!! Even when the plastics get the hang of it I can't see it get any better!! Catering needs to be taken back in house. Contracting it out means someone will pay peanuts and cuts corners!! SORT IT OUT!!

The guy serving me at half time seemed well out of his depth. I felt sorry for him. Or at least I would have done had I not missed the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half just because I wanted a pint.

I appreciate first game back etc etc, but this was attrocious today. They should have anticipated the demand during the first half, got tonnes of drinks already pre-poured and ready to go. Instead they had about 3 cola machines for 8 tills and huge bottlenecks were caused. The supervisors should have had enough common sense about them to realise that with it being a hot day, it was going to be chaos and prepare accordingly.

The Jazz Cafe was pretty bad at HT. The problem is you get twats with absolutely no decency pushing to the front of the bar and getting served when a lot of people have been at the front waiting for 5-10 minutes.

Just before half-time, when I went to the loo - there were huge queues at each till, already back to the wall - AND a Fosters seller, with the backpack thing who thought it would be an excellent idea to sell the stuff at the entrance to the ladies loo - he was surrounded by people and it was a fight just to get to the loo. SORT IT OUT.

My experience yesterday:

Queued for 15 minutes

Person in front was returning beer as it tasted funny, supervisor tasted it, thought about it, poured another one, customer happy with this one, they talk about what causes beer to taste funny for five minutes while server is not serving anyone.

Get to front and there's an argument on the next till about being mischarged, my server watches this for over a minute before I have to shout, "is there any danger of you serving anyone"

Get a cider and a wine, don't taste the cider, schoolboy error, get back to concourse, have first sip and it's utterly rancid tasting of piping.

Can't be bothered to queue up and take it back.

Should someone not check if it's fit for human consumption before they start selling it every game?

Went for a beer at half time, served with a bottle of Bulmers with ice in less than a minute, sat at a table to enjoy my drink while watching highlights of the 1st half, returned to my seat in plenty of time for the 2nd half nicely refreshed........ 8) 8)

Because people are stupid enough to buy it as a captive audience.
