MotD2 is shit unless your game happens to be on Sunday. So MotD isn't normally on iPlayer? What is their reasoning for one of their main programmes not to be available to watch online?

I think it is something to do with media rights, it is really annoying, though not as annoying a going to watch something on Iplayer that suddenly disappears.....it's MOTD2 or a subscription to the Murdoch Empire I'm afraid mate.............

The Murdock Empire won't help me out here (Nepal). My parents have Sky in England, and I have access to the online thing (whatever they've called it now), but my internet is so slow that I can't watch more than 3 seconds before it buffers for another 10 seconds.

Rawlie19 Anyone know why 'Match of the Day' is not available on iPlayer!?!?!? If that's normal I'm going to go NUTS! No way of watching my team in Nepal AT ALL without this. My internet isn't fast enough to stream anything sufficiently, but I can download stuff from iPlayer (painfully slow but worth the wait). Has it previously not been available on iPlayer? I don't watch it, last year downloaded the 'Football League Show' episodes to catch up.

Gary Lineker tweeted yesterday: MOTD iplayer situation as follows; Current deal with PL does not allow it. That changes with new contract which starts next season

Head to gettyfooty.com. You can watch MoTD streams on that (not live).

You can watch Match of the Day and MOTD2 at the same time these are shown on television, on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website. MOTD2 is also available to watch on-demand from BBC iPlayer, but due to rights reasons can only be included from midnight on the Tuesday night after the programme airs. The programme will be removed from BBC iPlayer seven days after its television broadcast.

Unfortunately rights restrictions mean we are currently unable to offer the Saturday night Match of the Day programme on BBC iPlayer.

For more information please see the BBC Sports Editors Blog.

The BBC has recently announced that it has entered into a new agreement with the FA Premier League that will allow it to make both Match of the Day and MOTD2 available on-demand on BBC iPlayer from midnight on the Monday night after the programme airs. However, please note that these new arrangements do not begin until the 2013/2014 season, so only MOTD2 will be available during the 2012/2013 season as described above.

You can also read more information about the forthcoming changes at the BBC Sports Editors Blog:

Thanks Cypry. The Premier League suck balls. Managed to find a torrent of it now. I also have the full match, but not in great quality. Better than nothing though! First opening day game I've missed for 17 years.

I'd say so. My local probably will will anyway, with Italian commentary.

*it's not an Italian pub, just seems to be their connection of late. Last year it was Norwegian.

Live on FoxSports 1 starts 4.35am AEST. Doubt that helps much but its pretty damn certain if its live over here then there will be plenty of streams for it
