Some people are focusing on the fact he has scored just six times in 60 games. You could also look at the fact he is just 20 years old and has played 60 games in France's top flight, for Marseilles. In that context £3.5m could be a bargain.

I have a French friend who is a big Marseille fan. I am going to ask him what this bloke is like and will report back!

would be a good signing in my opinion. 6 goals in 60 games isnt impressive but he is only 20 years old. (21 in september). 60 games at the french top flight is pretty impressive considering marseille is one of the top teams. who knows what brian will do with him, he could turn him into the best player weve ever had.

It's actually 10 goals in 78 appearances in all competitions, and 7 of those came last season. And he's only 20.

Jordan Ayew to Reading 70% done – report

Footy-ghana.com sources have confirmed that English Premier League side Reading are more than half way through to reaching an agreement with Olympique Marseille over the transfer of Ghana forward Jordan Ayew.

Initial reports in the English press seemed to indicate that the deal has already been done, but footy-ghana.com sources reveal that negotiations between both clubs are ‘70% complete.’

Footy-ghana.com also understands that Marseille boss Eli Baup was very reluctant to let Jordan go, but the forward expressed interest in the potential move to the Premier League, thus culminating in talks between both teams.

Reading won the English Championship and are back in the Premier League for the first time in four years.

Brilliant nutmeg at around 1:50. Looks like he has two good feet. Let us hope not Mass Sarr II.

Exactly. Stats are just stats, and you can look at them any number of ways. If this transfer does go through, then I doubt Brian looked at the player and thought "Ooh - 6 goals in 60 appearances - I'll have him", he probably thought "Ooh - a young player playing in a top flight league getting better every season - I'll have him."

So we're now judging the quality or otherwise of a potential new signing on You Tube footage of his brother

I am not forming any judgement until someone has shown me his Football Manager stats :!:

20 year old with potential for £3.5 million :!: Our low risk signings are costing a hell of a lot more these days!

I reckon chanting that to the tune of 'Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole,' would be pretty awesome. Tongue twister after a few pints admittedly.
