Snowball That Pog bloke, pure crap intee?

154 minutes and only one brilliant goal against the European Champions.

I mean, if he plays 36 more 77 minute games he'll only get 19 Premiership goals. What's the point of that?

Can we have his brother in this case. We defenetly need a left winger (and left FB).

To replace our captain, the man who rinsed Ivanovic for a lot of Wednesday night?

Without end product. His is not a left winger at all, his left foot dosnt work. Please pay attantion at next game: when he (briliantly by the way) pass the FB he stops, turned on 180 deg in oder to shift the ball to the right foot and only then make a cross. So he lost all advantage of the time he earn earlier by his pace; defenders have time to come back and recover the cross.

Thing is, he can use his left foot to great effect, he just seems to have got into a habit of cutting inside.
I can't remember which game it was late last season, he'd been consistently beating the right back then cutting inside to cross with his right given the RB time to recover.
We'd been screaming for him to use his left, then finally he went for the line, crossed with his left and we scored....

No he cant. Harte can, for example. And he is not PL standard. Stoke game shows what both our wings not works before McLeary introduced. After that we start to play with one wing only. But this already another topic.

He scored 5 goals and had 12 assists last season.. Hardly no end product. He can cross with his left or right, but chooses most of the time to cut inside. On Wednesday this won us a free kick which we scored from.

To be honest I think Fridays legacy was right in what he said. McDermott has stated that he is comfortable with our squad, but if anything else comes up blah blah blah. This means that McDermott can look for players, and if they do not sign, he can say that he was always comfortable with the team, to save face and to prevent fans worrying. I am pretty sure FL said this a while back, and is fairly relevant to these kind of threads, even though this probably was just Ayew's agent.

Only worth buying a striker if they are going to add to the squad. Think we need someone pacey like Martins not saying for one minute we could afford Martins but there must be someone similar out there for a better price.

We all love our players, like the parents blindly love their children in good or bad.
But to be realistic he is still right winger. and playing on the left because we do not have good left ones. If you drive the car it not means that you formula one driver. So we have 3 on the right and no one on the left wing today. And I would be happy if we sign at least one.

Meh, most teams now play with wingers on the wrong flank Real Madrid being a prime example.

Yup - and Jordan Obita - how many times last season did Jobi start on the right wing and how many on the left?

I lose track. They seem to switch all the time. Anyway, it's a prime tactic to have one winger for width and the other for cutting inside. Gives you variety then. Plus, Jobi is a cracking player. Wingers are one thing we do not require more of in my opinion.

Agreed.

Jobi is more effective on the left than the right anyway and when he cuts in / runs at defenders he sometimes does tear them apart. His finishing is my only real concern, too many shots fly over the bar.

Rather have Jobi on the left than HRK.

There could be some legs with this as on the web at
http://pro.footeo.com/mercato/26-aout-2 ... ayew-13565
Translated it says
"With regard to forward Jordan Ayew, he could leave the OM club to join him as the British. Emissaries of Reading are currently at the Stade de la Mosson to observe the Ghanaian international, and the English leaders are going to make an offer. Maligned by some players of the Olympian workforce for its individualism and his hotheaded temperament, OM would be to give the youngest son of Abedi Pele, Jordan Ayew."

Whatever that means

Would be a very good signing but we'll be playing Samuel on the bench all season.

I'll try it one more time with my schoolboy French:

" Regarding the striker Jordan Ayew, he might be leaving the club (Olympique Marseilles) to move across the Channel. Representatives of Reading FC are currently at the Stade de la Mosson to watch the Ghanaian international, and the English team is preparing to make an offer. His hot temper and individualistic style caused problems with some of his team-mates, but Olympique Marseilles is about to lose the youngest son of Abedi Pele, Jordan Ayew."
