Kebe or McCleary

by Stuboo » 26 Aug 2012 15:33

Who would you prefer to see play on the right wing, when Kebe gets back from injury, Kebe or McCleary?

I'm a big Kebe fan and would say Kebe, but after McCleary's recent great form, I'd be interested to hear what the rest of you think.

It's possible, but one of them would have to play on their unfavoured left side. I'm not sure if Brian would be willing to drop the captain also. Worth thinking about though.

Kebe is great on his day but is far too inconsistent. McCleary on current form deserves to start ahead of Kebe, no question!

Yes....yes we are.

Back to the matter in hand, it's a tough call. I like the idea of rotating the position, and regular subbing. Both players can make magic, and both tend to fade in a match. Dropping McCanuff isn't an option. Apart from being the captain, he nearly always puts in a solid performance and has been on top form in the opening couple of matches.

He is an up and down kind of player, yes. If you were to take an average of of Kebe's performances (good and bad) I reckon his level would still be pretty high. For me, McLeary still has a way to go before he gets Kebe's spot, like Ian Royal said. Interesting to hear what others think though.

There's a class about McCleary that I like. Very comfortable on the ball, very good first touch - I've got confidence in him that I rarely have when watching Kebe, who still runs down too many blind alleys, or goes missing in games. McCleary for me.

I'll wait to see who TheSiege chooses, and then passionately disagree with him.

Thing for me, is even when Kebe doesn't produce anything, he's still occupying the defenders and causing them problems. And we've only seen a couple of games from McCleary, there's no evidence he's any more consistent than Kebe right now.

I'm just gonna throw this out there, it doesn't mean I agree with it (I don't). But what about moving McAnuff into central midfield and also playing Kebe and McCleary?
