I'm pleasantly surprised by McCleary, he seems to run at defenders, whereas Jimmy runs past them. Different style, but I reckon that substituting one for the other will run an already tired defence ragged- so all good!

McCleary does cross well, but I can also remember a quality cross from Kebe last season which Roberts headed in.

kebe is god- but have been seriously impressed with mcleary- the great thing is we now have two gr8 wingers on that side who can only push each other on to greater things

It's possible, but one of them would have to play on their unfavoured left side. I'm not sure if Brian would be willing to drop the captain also. Worth thinking about though.

McAnuff also prefers the right side. I think all three (four if you count HRK) are more than capable of playing on either side.

I'd want Kébé playing 70 minutes and then McCleary coming off the bench.

The elephant in the room here is that too many people think McAnuff has to start regardless.

His days as a winger should be behind him and he certainly shouldn't be keeping Kebe or McCleary out of the team. He should be fighting for a spot in the centre (where I believe he is now more effective) but it's a battle he will probably lose.

This doesn't make him sh+t, just not good enough to be guaranteed a start from our Premiership squad.

Thought Jobi was great against Chelsea. Seemed like most reports recognised him as a danger man in that game. Always a consistent performer and see no reason to drop him. Certainly not for Kebe who, let's be honest, contributes a lot less to the game than Jobi and rarely makes as much impact has McCleary who has had two great games back to back.

At Stamford Bridge Jobi ran past three players and then got fouled by the next two, notably John Terry who should have been booked.
From the resultant free-kick we got our second goal.
It was a tremendous piece of skill by Jobi, - if Terry hadn't fouled him, he would have been through on goal, and we might have been celebrating a wonder-goal. As it was, justice was done.

It can only be good to have McCleary making the impact he has, Kebe is great on his day but consistency is not his strong point .nice to have quality cover for that position

I personally don't think McAnuff is a good enough option to be starting in CM except for injuries.

We have seen two games from him this season. At stoke both he and HRK were pretty anonymous but at chelsea he looked good, he took on his man and looked to have the eating of Ivanovic. McCleary has looked good so far but it is far too early for us to say he is much more consistent that Kebe.

In the long run it may change but when Kebe is back from injury I would say McCleary will keep his place if he doesn't have any shocking games before then. That may change in the course of the season but we need to see what 'Premier League Kebe' plays like. I don't see McAnuff getting dropped, while its not ideal he has done well as captain and will probably keep his place most weeks

He expects to finish up as a full back. Such things might be possible, but not this season.
