If football people thought like you, Ian Wright would now be working in a warehouse and Thierry Henry would be a retired unremarkable winger! Most English clubs would never have signed Messi - he was far too small and had health issues!

I give you Simon Cox - brilliant in League 1 but has never yet proved himself above that level and now back in the Championship (where I think he will do well this season as it happens). A fair deal for Rhodes would be 3M or so - any more is madness. Yes they might get lucky and he might score 20+ again but he might also fall flat on his face and be dire.

Just a thought. Rhodes didn't score in their play-off last season,....and how many has he scored at the beginning of this season so far? Just how many goals will it take for him to be rated a success? What if they do get promoted, yet he doesn't score as many as he is supposed to? Were the other players the 'smart' buys'? Don't you love this game....?
