For a club getting 13,000 it's madness. They are gambling big time. For the sake of football I hope the Venkys and there deluded fans get what they deserve.

Mike Hunt 4.5 for this guy is peanuts. He will go on to be a massive, massive star. I had no idea why he was going to Blackburn until I heard his wages...
Where was all of this Blackburn cash last year? They will make money on this transaction though.

maffffMr AngryGirdler_Massive Does anyone know if that's a record for a championship side?
Depends by which record you are asking about; its supposedly the biggest transfer fee between 2 Championship sides.
Championship to Championship record is still Matt Mills?
Anywhere into the Championship - not a clue.
Championship to the Premier League there have been several higher.

TheSiegeandrew1957 You know the world has gone mad when a Championship club pays this much out for an unproven striker (at Championship level).
Not really - it's called intelligence and football Knowledge! If football people thought like you, Ian Wright would now be working in a warehouse and Thierry Henry would be a retired unremarkable winger! Unproven means - 'The dim w*nkers can't see his class and are too stupid to read his stats!'. The case rests. Unfortunately, Rhodes may well wave to us as he heads for the Prem and we go down! p.s. Most English clubs would never have signed Messi - he was far too small and had health issues!

I give you Simon Cox - brilliant in League 1 but has never yet proved himself above that level and now back in the Championship (where I think he will do well this season as it happens). A fair deal for Rhodes would be 3M or so - any more is madness. Yes they might get lucky and he might score 20+ again but he might also fall flat on his face and be dire.
