That's a bit of a non-sequitor considering:

a) Doyle scored 13 in 32 in his first premiship season, proving his ability to play at the highest level, notwithstanding his poor following season.
b) He cost £6.5m and
c) He clearly hasn't quite fulfilled the potential that led to that price tag.

You could sell your house for £250k, put all but enough to stay in a B&B for a night on the lottery. If you win £4.5m you still look like a stupid idiot who made a terrible gamble. Just a very very lucky one. Same principle applies, just to a far lesser extent.

I just find it funny how Blackburn decide to spend that amount of money this year yet last year was a complete different story yet had they spent that money last year im pretty sure they would of stayed up.
