Ian Royal Silly boy. Fine by the club, proper smack down from MaccyD and assuming he takes his medicine and seems suitably remorseful then nuff said.

That's about what I think. He messed up, he says sorry, he gets punished and he behaves better in future. Simples.

On the scale of footballer scandals I'd have this one near the bottom of the scale.

who are ya?
Royal Lady He's nearly 19 and I can absolutely bet my house on the fact he's never taken a pee in public. He's just not like that.

LOL :!:

A sure sign of a son growing up. Mums are the last to know.

The indignation on here is pathetic and hypocritical.

1.
I would guess a minimum of 90% of the men and plenty of females on here have peed in public at some point.
I did Saturday at 11:45 am just off Andover Road, Newbury after I found the two pubs were shut.
It's a trivial occurrence and is being made a big deal when it ain't.

2.

This is a "News report" from THE SUN. And then you quote it as if it might actually be 100% factual.

Horrified hotel residents? Ho Ho Ho.

3.

You have NO IDEA if the player was blind drunk, blitzed, or ejected.
You have no idea if he peed in an alleyway or exposed himself to nuns in the foyer of The Ritz.

4.

Most of us know that the police will use just about any excuse to lean on young men and elsewhere
on this board someone posted where he was arrested for having an innocent pee and missed a game.

IF, IF the player went outside what he's allowed. IF. Then IMO the only transgression is breaking the club's fitness regime

All he did was shoot a bit of wee out his pecker, so what?

I've seen RFC fans urinating down the steps at The County Ground and one lad on the Paddington - Reading train urinated on a Southampton kids back pack.

Ideal What makes matters worse is the pcunt isn't apologizing, he should put his hands up and say he's sorry, instead he's blaming the police and acting a clown.

Unless, of course, he really DID go down an alleyway for his slash
and doesn't consider he did anything wrong?

Rev Algenon Stickleback H I got a ticket for the 2006 UEFA Cup Final.

I was outside the stadium, and got nicked by the police for having a slash behind a bush across the road, near the railway line. I ended up being taken off to the cells, only getting out in time to see the last 20 minutes. I saw three goals in that time, but it didn't really make it ok. If I'd had my passport on me I could have just paid a 40 euro fine on the spot. As it was it cost me 100 euro in fines instead.

They actually had a tv set up across from the cells, so people could watch the match, but in some ways, that made it worse.

Shameful!

Completely irrelevant.

90% of the men and women on this board will probably be completely out of shape, but that wouldn't excuse it if a player was 5st overweight.

Footballers are held to different standards, and are paid handsomely to be so.

In some countries they have a completely different culture and attitude to peeing in public. In Brazil, for example, it is considered a disgusting, shameful thing. Still, a very harsh thing to happen to you and I sympathise massively, but you shouldn't expect other countries to be like England. When in Rome, etc.

Just as a matter of interest, what "morals" are in players' contracts?

Stuboo On the scale of footballer scandals I'd have this one near the bottom of the scale.

The fact remains that he is paid under contract, his job is to be a professional athlete and live a healthy lifestyle while representing RFC when appearing in the public eye.
He has failed to maintain his professionalism.

Even if he had not been in the media, and this had not been written about, it is absolutely not professional to consume vast ammounts of alcohol.
Alcohol and performing to the top of athleticism in an endurance sport does not combine.
Restitution between matches and after training is hampered by alcohol, and your physical fitness is set back.
I read a study done on cross country skiers where it said that it took them two months to regain the same O2 capability after a "proper night on the town".

Football is a sport, the players are professional athletes, and you'd expect them to maintain their optimum level of fitness.

In terms of footballing ability Morrison is a third-rate no-mark and I do not give a shit if he is shipped out, he is absolutely no loss to us.

You might be convincing me a bit.

Footballers are paid ridiculous amounts of money and therefore they should be expected to behave with the utmost professionalism.

Its still not a huge offense. I hope he apologises and learns from it.

Tbf, most of the guys out there have done a lot worse in their local town or city centre so I don't really think they're really the sort of example to be used in this case :)

Bollocks. A bloke when pissed can hold it for 3-4 drinks, but when he goes, he'll need a pee almost every 20-30 minutes. He will almost certainly have had a pee in an alley or snuck behind a tree. He's hardly likely to tell his mum that he was busting and had a sneak wee on the way home, is he? And as for saying "he's not like that" - like what? I suppose we're all scum are we?

He mainly drinks shorts and he uses the pub toilets - I know he's not going to tell me, but I just know, mainly, because he was brought up to be respectful and has never taken a pee "in public" which is what this is about.

Plus - he put that tweet about the policeman wanting to go for the "big man" - does he mean because he's tall or because of "who he is"? Cos I'm betting the policeman didn't have a scooby who he was!! And, he says it was 2 weeks ago, 13 days ago he was telling some mate that he couldn't meet him "because I have a game on Tuesday" - although he's tried to tell me on Twitter that he didn't have a game for 3 weeks. Doesn't he play in the reserves ever? Plus, this was in response to me asking if they're usually allowed to "get bladdered" a few days before a game. He didn't say he wasn't bladdered, just that he pee'd down an alley. Doesn't deny getting thrown out of a club for being a tw@t either.

And Rex, we would NEVER sign Joey Barton, precisely because of the type of person he is. That's my point, the club have tried to foster an ethos of responsibility and appear to shy away from the "big personalities" who get into trouble on and off the pitch. Morrison only had to apologise - but instead, he's tried to wriggle out of it. Like I've said, he's a no-mark player really - certainly not a Premiership Ace as quoted in The Sun. If he didn't get drunk, act like a tw@t and pee in front of people - then I have no problem with him at all.

I could be wrong, but given that he is 6"4 I took it to mean his height.

lol that's unbelievably naive. Unless you have him under 24 hour video surveillance.

And well done for just telling everyone on here who's ever been caught short and had a cheeky slash in a public place they aren't respectful and weren't brought up properly.
