Snowball Article in today's Times by Tony Evans, Football Editor
talking about the cover-up over the Hillsboro Disaster
Quote
Finally, we may be close to getting the truth,
a phrase distorted by Kelvin MacKenzie's despicable headline in The Sun,
above a story that accused Liverpool supporters of robbing the dead,
urinating on the police and making lewd suggestions about a dead girl.
Carry on quoting.

Snowball The Sun is the worst paper in Britain, sensationalist and lying
So people quote it and then argue.
Who knows THE FACTS?

Hoop Blah I'm not overly fussed what Morrison did or didn't do, but he really should be taking better care of his body during the season and certainly shouldn't be getting nicked whilst being an ambassador for the club.

It's not half as bad as the Mail, and that is a FACT!

Wimb
Won't get drawn into the reporting merits of a particular tabloid because I know little of the writer or his sources. I think the Hillsborough story was despicable and at the
very best naive bit of journalism but considering that happened over 20 years ago I doubt these particular writers had anything to do with it.

From Despair To Where? Depends on whether he was having a discreet piss down an alleyway or waving his tackle about in the street. With the only source being The Sun, I'm more readily inclined to believe it was the former and if that's the case it really is a non story.
Either way, what concerns me more is the manner in which he has handled the situation aftwerwards which isn't particularly good. If that was me, I'd issue a statement stating that no offence was intended but apologising for any taken.

Wimb Doesn't necessarily mean that he did exactly what was stated in the Sun's story but I find it hard to believe the same media department that got a fans forum summary taken down from a message board wouldn't have demanded equal retractions from The Sun.
